If you want you can simply boil crushed egg shells in water. Add some Epsom and strain it off. DO NOT pour it full strength into your soil. 1/2 cup to a gallon of water is a good starting point.

I got my recipe online. Essentially there is not much difference in store bought and this except emulsifiers and stabilizers. A good shake takes care of that.
1. Crack all of your eggs and rinse out the shells. Leave the washed shells out to dry overnight. (or bake in the oven at 225 for an hour or so)
2. Use a rolling pin, hammer, mortar & pestle, anything to crush your dried eggshells into small pieces.
3. Weigh your crushed eggshells with a kitchen scale. This recipe calls for 30 grams of dried egg shells.
4. Measure out 15 grams of Epsom salt.
5. Use a large stock pot, add 1 gallon of water, dried eggshells and Epsom Salts. Cook on your stove and boil mixture for at least 5 minutes.
6.Turn off the flame cover with a lid. Let this sit for at least 24 hours. The eggshells and epsom salts will release their nutrients into the water during this time.
7. Strain any eggshells or debris out of the mixture.
8. You can water your plants with up to 1 1/2 cups to a gallon of water. (Start small kike 1/2 cup) You get a boost of calcium, magnesium and sulfur. This recipe makes 1 gallon of cal-mag booster, which is enough for 8 treatments. Store the remaining to use later.Last edited by crucialbunny; 08-14-2020, 04:51 PM.

If growing in soil, tap water has plenty of calcium already in it. Mag is in the nutes. It’s not necessary in this case. Most people don’t realize it’s a ph buffer, so if you have balanced ph in the soil, you don’t need it at all.4x4 600w HID empty for summer
3x3 400w HID with Bruce Banner and Skywalker Kush
2x2 65w Quantum Board LED with 4 mother strains
running all simultaneously for a perpetual harvests.

I grow in containers using tap water but have found that the added calcium mixed with magnesium helps the uptake of of all the other nutrients in the soil. I also use worm castings which works wonders in maintaining PH.

Most likely It’s ph. Could be the nutes themselves. Agreed EW castings are also great buffers.
