    Thin and tall

Again, I’m new to this so just getting feedback. Does this Big Bud strain look tall and thin? I’m using the Fox Farm trio, and it isn’t growing like my other ones.

You need to top her I have the link to read on how to do it...... good luck

Topping and FIMing are two plant training techniques that involve "pinching" or cutting off some of the top growth of your plant. These techniques are designed to give you a free way to achieve better plant shape (to make better use of the available light

        Growing outside. It’s probably 5 weeks in. . .

You do not 'need' to top any plant. If you want the plant to distribute energy to side branches then it is good to top it. If you are growing outdoors the length maybe due to heat stress.

I dont see any issues with it, how many hours direct sunlight? And all the other details, soil, water, feed,
If you need to keep it short you can just bend it over.

It’s outside all day. So hopefully it’s getting 10-12. Regular soil from Lowe’s. Prob not the best, but it’s my first time. Water daily when needed. Feed it the Big Bloom and Big Grow from Fox Farms.

It looks like a good candidate for some training. I don't know why but some plants just wanna grow straight up and not fill out. When I get one of these "spears" I tie some gardeners tape to the top and stake it down forming a mild arc. The middle will fill out and create multiple new branches an colas. I currently have 2 and they have become really vigorous growers. Takes some room though and moving them can be treacherous.

If it’s your first grow. Just let it grow.
All my outdoors plants I just let them grow naturally, the sun hits The Whole plants with sunlight anyway.

And it’s less complicated, especially for a first grow.
          my opinion
Just because people are over 50 doesn’t mean they know everything.
You can teach a old dog new tricks - But it will still think the old ways are the “best” lol

I got a bag seed don't know what strain nor if it's female or male. It's outdoors also growing just like that and i just topped it 4th node from the bottom. That's all i'm going to do with it cause i don't know what sex it is.
