update from the other side (journal)

    Hi all,
just an update today after all your much appreciated help with my transplant and nute problems (still going on but less so).

i'm growing for RSO - currently 2 x lemon haze CBD autos and 2 x randoms that were given to us and planted by the patient - not CBD high strains
we're using soil - literally from the garden as (it's a loong story) but it's not possible to buy any of the civilised stuff here that would normally be taken for granted
we have 2 x CFLs - 50w and 26w real (smaller one started this week)

We had a shocking transplant for the 2 randoms but they've pulled through - however they have nute problems (i'm using compost tea and even some diluted urine for nutes)

small fan going and very homemade reflective sheeting etc.

here is a pic the autos in the smaller pot have been going since 12/12 and the larger pots have the randoms since approx start of december.

have a pleasant evening and thanks for all your advice.

forgot to add i attempted some very basic lst - pulling them over and tying down with string + some trimming of a few leaves. Possibly need to do more trimming to get light onto the nodes..?

hi, just a quick update - been away from the babies for a week or so and have re-potted into larger pots, will be topping up the soil this week now i'm back. Can see some are strecthing for light - i think tghis is worsened as i've got them in different height pots and have to move lights so high because of the giant one. Nutrient probs continue and it looks like some Potassium deficiency this time - last picture.

Cannot believe the growth since repotting. - they were a bit root bound but it's really surprised me how they've shot up.

I wanted to ask if there's anyway to know at this point if the 2 larger plants look like autos too?? First time doing this so i have genuinely no idea.

Many thanks and best wishes folks.

Thanks Nartak - I had thought I was too late to try any more training and was going to just let them go - but if you reckon it's worth it I'll at least give them a lie down and hope - thanks!

I'd go with your guess - i wasn't sure what they were at first and only realised they could be pre-flowers today - they were definitely there 2 days ago... so I'd take your word on a week. They're usually indoors but i shift them up and outdoors when sun and temp is good - (still too chilly at night.)

they germinated around start of December - we're not sure exactly as we arrived to help out after that...

Ok that makes them around same age as mine,6/12 i germed and am now 12 days into flower with visible pistils on almost all plants, yes you can bend and tie, gently and carefully so you don't break anything!!You should avoid super-cropping in flower unless it is the last and only resort!!

Just find places with light and space so they aren't shutting anything off and secure them!!Im sure you can try and give them a good 70-80 degree bend without snapping!! Take some duct-tape with you just in case you snap something, inevitable if you want to save the buds from frying....

                #11
cheers! - i'll maybe get the duct tape in first and have a go tomorrow - they feel pretty bendy so fingers crossed (prays to god of MJ) they'll be alright. I'll post a photo up tomorrow of either a trained or (hopefully not) busted up plant

Just for reference, his name is Shiva Hey don't go bending everything eh,find the place where the plant will be able to take another 25% of it's current height vertically and bind them to that point, again trying to keep an even as possible canopy,if that means lower, lower,if it means loosing a few pop-corn buds,oh well, life doesn't like pop-corn lol!!

G'day, well i've had the girls out in the sun today and got around to very basic LST this evening tied one half over and some of the smaller branches over the other direction - sun has been great today, way way better than the indoor lights -think i can slmost se them growing.

Also i think i'll move the smallest two up a pot size tonight too. I promised a pic of the bindage so here goes - it's string i'm afraid - no twisty tie - but i'll be buying some next chance i get.

                Many thanks y'all.

muchos gracias Green. I'll get to 1 or two of the others after re-potting. I just needed a nudge in the right direction - great forum.

Hey thats looking good man!!Glad to hear you also got the good part of the sun today!!I took by dog bike riding up in the mountain,so warm today!!

String will do just fine as long as you are gentle,so will thin twisty tie if you are gentle again...All they need is our lovin, the rest came along with the years...Trust me good ol Ed Rosenthal didn't have all the shit we say a beginner will need nowadays!!

speaks volumes that Mr Bill Hicks is still considered awesome 25 or so years after i first saw some of his stuff - I'd love to know what he'd make of today's politicos.

The quote below is one of my favourites too.

                  evenin' all

quick update- just waiting and waiting really, get them out in the sun when i can, tried some LST on the larger two but suspect they're not getting enough light now - some good weather coming in so fingers crossed..

still trying to fight the nutrient probs with compost teas and burying banana peel... not perfect. Some of the pistills seem to be darkening but the buds are still very small. Got a few more weeks so I hope they're on track more or less.

                  Tranquilo!
