hi Dave, are you growing Autos? if so, you don't need to switch your lights, leave them at 18/6, or even 20/4, but if your growing photos, you do not want to switch your light to 12/12, after just 3 weeks. photos typically veg for 8 weeks, then you switch to 12/12, to trigger flowering, which takes another 8 weeks. even with Autos, 8 to 10 weeks, if doubtful, but possible, i guess, with a very low yield. so what are your seeds?

It will be 3 weeks on friday that i planted my germinated seeds... According to queen seeds i should be switching to 12 on 12 off... My plants look far too small to be entering the flowering cycle.. Any advice?? I.e how big should my plants be before i change to flowering?
        thanks
        Dave

You are correct. They are too small at 3 weeks to switch to flower. I usually switch early at 6 weeks and late for me is 9 weeks. If you veg longer, your plants will be bigger and have a bigger yield and in theory, you can veg for months and months.

More than a theory- I grew that Mango for about 6mos (under a sad lighting array).

I find that if I get the plant to about 12-15" tall and then flip, they usually end up around 3' tall.
            WHAT???
            5x5 grow space
            900w of Vero's and F-strips
            4-17gal totes self-made UC system.

Hi Dave, so your seeds are females, not autos. so i would keep them under 18/6 for 8 weeks, then flip them to 12/12, and they will almost double in size, and be ready to harvest in approx 8 more weeks. here is my Galat OG Auto, 6 weeks old.

              good luck, keep us posted!

i hope mine grow like that πŸ˜‚
I'm not the most patient man on the planet so maybe I'm expecting too much to happen... The plants will be 4 weeks old on Friday .... I have saved 2x seeds to try a different way once these are harvested... I haven't had a smoke for 4 weeks as it's impossible to get on my little island at the moment so I'm like spiderman climbing the walls haha.
                Thankyou for your input

Well I'm back and struggling so need advice please!

All plants were put on 18hrs on 6hrs off on the 10th april.
All plants have a soil ph of 6.5 and 6.8

Plants seem to be droopy and a few yellow leaves underneath ( which I've read is normal)

I think I'm doing something wrong and scared i may be losing my crop?

Anything you lovely lot see on pictures i can do to help them undroop would help a lot...
the soil is wet up to 1st knuckle on mi finger too so water isn't an issue..

Maybe I'm wrong and they look fine to you lot haha

                  Thanks in advance for replies

                  Dave ✌

They look pretty nice to me. They will get much much bigger. I've been growing in small places a long time so I'm anxious about 4 plants in a 60x60x160 space. I wish you luck and admire your ambition. Grow in peace !!

so they look ok... I thought they would have been taller by now but if they're ok that'll do for me!

                      Cheers

Might was to add lots of perlite when you transplant them. Roots might be having a hard time getting oxygen and if they never get to dry out they get that droopy look. I would let them dry out almost completely, keeping an eye on them not wilting too much. They leaves should be kind of shaped like a v with the edges of the leaves being higher than the vein in the middle of the leaf. With the leaf tips pointing up. People compare it to a praying leaf if you can picture that. I'll find some pics.

I'm sure you can pic through and see which are healthy and which are droopy. Droopy being over watered. And up and crisp are on a good water/dry schedule.

There ally happy in their flowering now, I transplanted into my soil mix which has about 50 percent perlite mixed in, sativas seem to drool abit more than indicas. I think due to their long skinny leaf structure but you seem to have indica which have fat wide short leaves which lends to their more distinct praying looks. You can see the tall one in this pic. It will keep that droopy look through the flower stage right to harvest. They seem to be the most crisp and upward pointing about a couple hours after sunrise. And most droopy just before they know that the lights are about to turn off.

Anyways get lots of perlite in your soil when you transplant. It will make it harder to over water. The pot there in now you don't have to completely soak when you water. I would stick to watering close to the main stem. I use a 20 ml cyringe from the pharmacy, no needle ofcourse lol. And at that size I give about 40 ml every second day give or take, sticking to the center of the plant.

When they get to the size of the second picture there past ready to get to a bigger pot than there in. But at that size I soak the soil till I get about a cup or 2 of water in the saucer.

When there in a solo cup I give 30 ml every day or when there lite or noticeably dry.

If they stay that light green color with the lower leaves turning yellow ( being eaten by the plant for food) once you get the watering and perlite settled into a good routine of wet dry, then
They are ready to start getting fed. You want a nice healthy green. On the darker side of the green spectrum but a very dark green would mean the plant is getting too much nitrogen.

Do you have any nutrients? Or do you need to get to getting some. What's in the soil only keeps them happy for a short amount of time.

i think I've rambled on enough lol don't be shy to ask any questions, only stupid question is the one you don't ask lol.

The 2 smaller plants in the second picture started making pollen, hermed so there decorations now, got out of the tent. And if noone wants a decoration they will get cut down in a couple days.
