Bends with breath, breaks with touch. Not worried about it. It's just neat.

Just trying to figure out if it's mineral or organic as in fungal.

Eh. Either way, it's cool. Could be calcium from DE?

All worthy ideas. Alien life spores (War of the Worlds)? Sasquatch seed? Fairy sneezes? Pickle dust?

My guess is it’s fungus. Stalagmites form from water dripping on rock like limestone. Not over soil.

            Not fairy sneezes?
It's actually quite easy to make liquid run uphill and not come back down. Roll up a paper towel and touch the bottom to water. It wicks up. So does wax, speaking of wicks. There's also this crystal cave in Mexico. Stuff growing up and sideways. So, not technically stalagmites. Some sort of salt crystal, as mentioned in a previous post.
