    How much lumens/square feet?

    Hey guys,

pretty straightforward question: How many lumens/square feet are you using for plants that will grow indoor from seeds? The plants will be planted outside once summer hits. I used lumens considering we all are using light that are mostly usable for plants. What would be the minimum not do go under?

    Cheers

You can try using this to get closer. https://www.waveformlighting.com/hor...ine-calculator
I use PPFD spot readings to set my light levels. 200-400 PPFD for veg and anywhere from 500-1000 PPFD for flowering.
    WHAT???
    5x5 grow space
    900w of Vero's and F-strips
    4-17gal totes self-made UC system.

It’s strain dependent. And lux is what you want to measure, not lumens. Approximately 70,000 lux should be good for flower. More or less.
        and 50,000 lux for veg.
These are just approximations. You need to measure and watch the pants response to these intensities.
4x4 600w HID empty for summer
3x3 400w HID with Bruce Banner and Skywalker Kush
2x2 65w Quantum Board LED with 4 mother strains
running all simultaneously for a perpetual harvests.

As I understand you're tryin to get a jump start on the outdoor growing season.... yes?
Contrary to what you will hear you can keep a few plants alive & growing with nothing more than a $20 4ft 5000 lumens LED shoplight from Walmart hung & kept at about 2ft from the top of your plants. I've done it. But yeah- if you're tryin to get max growth during this time or you're growing indoors you should go by the lux meter readings & watts per square ft tables.

Yes I am trying to get a jump start for outdoor growing. As they wont be in flowering stage indoor, I will not need as much lux.

I wouldn't worry about lumens either. Just put light above them.
