First I need to thank Everyone associated with this site. Absolutely phenomenal. Also the members of this forum have been great. Only asked 1question so far, received 4 answers within a day, all on point and helped me make a decision. I would like to echo one of our members and say it is refreshing to find a forum where every post and answer leave the ego and patronization out.
With the help the beginners tutorial and reading post and replies on this forum I have finally completed my shopping list. I really took the estimate of $300 to begin with a rather large grain of salt, but my shopping list came to ~$311. Now I just need to find someone to front me some weed for the month lol.
I am disabled (PTSD and other issues) and only have money once a month. The time I was forced to actually study the information and not go off half-cocked and make poor decisions. The state I live in does not have medical marijuana laws so I will be using a stealth grow. Luckily my psych did not care about the law and recommended weed as a way to help with my symptoms.
Again thank you all very much.
It's not how crazy I am, but how much I enjoy it that makes me dangerous.

Cannabis is going to help you...even if you do have to be a stealth grower! Good luck!! 🌻

Hi there: I think cannabis is great for PTSD (and I think more of us have it than would like to admit it!!) I am also stealth growing in an ultra conservative part of the country, and it took me a year to get my nerve up to start growing in my growbox. But I finished my first grow with flying colors (my Chemdawg buds are still curing), and am on my second grow. Good for your enlightened psych!!!

I've been following GWE for 3 years now and real happy to see this forum. The only other forum I've been a part of is Rollitup where I've also learned a lot and made a number of friends that I now hang with. I've always hoped this forum would happen and look forward to participating. I'm in my 60's now and hoping to retire in a few years so I'm trying to get things set along the way. I'm a legal hobbiest grower and love growing. I grow indoors and also outdoor. Indoor I use led, two A51 xgs 190's and a RW 150. Last year I won a grow competition and won a Inda Gro 420 induction light with pontoon and 300.00 worth of beans from Gorilla seedbank. Real glad to see Gorilla on GWE's recommended seedbanks because they are legit. Great customer service. Thanks for creating this forum, I always look to GWE for info.

Hey OllDude, welcome. There is a great bunch of people here. They even put up with me lol.

Thanks guys, I haven't started yet however I'm gathering up all the parts I think I need. So far I have a nice sealed hood, digital 600w ballast and a mid grade 4x4x7 tent and some other bits and pieces I pick up. I'm trying to do this on a budget, just like most everyone. But I can't think of a better retirement hobby!! Just need a fan and filter and I should be good to go. Thinking about picking up some clones locally (NorCal). I'll be posting when things get rolling about the middle of January.
Peace!

Hey OlldDude, sounds like a good start. And if you get good clones, that another good way to start. Right into the vegetative state. You've got a good size tent, but don't crowd it. And the best of luck to ya.3 X 3 gorilla. Promix soil . Green Planet Nutes

I think that for many of us older folks who started smoking in the 60s and 70s, it is really amazing to watch how the knowledge and technology of cannabis have exploded. I remember smoking leaves back when I was in high school and wondering what the heck I was supposed to feel! Then I remember in college in the 70s smoking some better "sin semilla" that my drug expert friends knew how to get a hold of. It wasn't until 2005 (after not having smoked for quite a long time) that I tried some of the strain-specific, expertly grown Humbolt County "kind bud" that I realized what a revolution had taken place.
And now I'm growing my own!!! Learning how to LST!!!! Recognizing nute burn and trichome milkiness!!!! MIND BLOWING!! I AM EMPOWERED BY THIS!!!!!Anyone can grow schwag. If you want to grow top shelf bud, study hard: https://www.growweedeasy.com

Love your last post! 😊 I also had some pot experiences in the 60's/70's, but wasn't consuming until last year, when I learned from GWE how to grow. Since then I have been blown away by the cannabis scene now, even with all the illegality still in the US (hopefully change is speeding up!). 🌱 On my 6th grow now, and it just keeps getting more and more fun! So glad you're on your way to playing with this remarkable plant! 🌻🌻

CA legalization is no surprise, but I'm glad it was legalized in FL (medical); there's hope for the conservative South!!!Anyone can grow schwag. If you want to grow top shelf bud, study hard: https://www.growweedeasy.com
