Do we reuse fabric grow bags?

I'm guessing yes but do you hose them off or scrub them or what?

Yes and yes - mine usually get a build up of algae and I take em in the back and hose em off. Just use a clean rag to keep wiping off the algae. Dry up good as new.

same here, i dont actually scrub them unless theyre really nasty, usually i let it dry under the sun upside down for a couple of days and then i smack it around and all that mineral debris falls off like dust

we arent a borg collective although we share the same means to access information for the most part.

we all do things a bit differently.

personally i'd wash with bleach and boil to sterilize, some dont bother and get new ones every grow, others hose down and get new ones every third grow.

i picked up a bunch of sacks during halloween with phosphorus print i intend to flip inside out and maybe leech some of the glow in the dark film into the medium for nutrition.

      good luck and enjoy.

You can also make a diluted solution of h2o2 and give them a good soak.

I just let them air dry for a few weeks- no hosing down, no cleaning, - just get the loose stuff out.

I reuse mine as well, long as they hold dirt I am going to clean em and use em, IDK how many grows that will be.

Me too. I don't even rinse them out. I'm only going to fill them with dirt, again.

I'm glad I posted this even though it may seem a bit dumb. I expected some three to five step process with peroxide or liquid Lysol or something. Dry, brush and reuse is right up my alley.

I tell the GF no need to over analyze things, just do it and go. I do try to get the salts off them, but it's on the outside,,,,, does it really mater?

I think looking nice matters. Not that I always put the work into it because I'm really the only one looking at the bag. Everyone else is content to notice that I'm overwatering.

I guess I over did it.... scrub, bleached and washing machine with peroxide rinse and water rinse. Fortunately they are very solid bags and look new. the flimsy soft ones are like dish rags

Definitely. They do start going soft and limp after a while but still manage to hold together so I use those for either give away plants or outside bags.

Easiest way I've found is a couple of bucks and a tide pod in the industrial machine at the local laundromat.

just dont add softener in the spin cycle ;p

also one area where pre-treating stains as early as possible is not optimal either.. wait till the grow is complete at least.

love the h2o2 soak idea i'm running with that one thanks!
