Hey friends..im going to try coco for my next grow. I need a little advice on a couple of things.. Question #1 I have 2 bags of loose Canna Coco..should i flush/rinse it out before using? Question #2 Should i then treat it with a flush of cal-mag and nutes before using? Question #3 Is there a specific mix ratio for coco to perlite? Question #4 Are these nutes sufficient? OR should i buy CANNA Nutes?. Im thinking i'll do some autos and compare my current grow medium(Berger grow mix,Canadian product, Peat,Bark,Organics, perlite) with Coco coir.. Shit...sorry so many questions.

Everything I’ve read about Canna Coco says it’s ready to use from the bag, it certainly can’t hurt to rinse it. You should definitely treat it with Cal-Mag before using it, no need to add any other nutrients at this stage. The ratio is really the growers choice, higher amounts of perlite will allow for better drainage but force you to feed more often, my personal preference is 70% Coco/30% Perlite. GH nutrients work very well in coco, you’ll be fine with them. Canna Nutrients are pricey!!!!Failure is an opportunity for improvement!!

I used it first time on last grow. I really like it, I use 70/30 perlite mix, filled 3 gal air pots and flushed the snot out of it. I am a redneck so I tasted runoff, kept flushing until didnt taste salt. It was surprisingly salty at first. Dont drink, taste rinse spit fyi. I guess a real well equipped grower could use a ppm meter.I bet Bob Marley's mansion

If I had more room I'd go with 5. But yes 3 gal are plenty big for my needs.I bet Bob Marley's mansion
