Here’s an update. I changed my reservoir over the weekend. I am using tap water that I bubble for at least 24hrs to dechlorinate. My tap water is a 7ph after that. I’m using advanced nutrients ph perfect Sensi Grow a+b. I’m using 15ml per 4gal since the girls are still young. I ph my reservoir after adding nutrients and letting it bubble for a few minutes and my ph is a perfect 5.5. It’s only week 2 of veg and the girls have already grown about 8in. I’m using a 600w led full spectrum dual switch in a 18x36x72 cabinet 5gal dwc. I will ph my reservoir again later in the week to see if the ph drifts.

Sitting water out for 24 hours does not gas off the chlorine from modern day water.

It’s day 6 of my 4gal reservoir. I ph the reservoir and the current ph is a 7.5. Last Friday when I changed the reservoir and added my nutrients it was a perfect 5.5. Should I be worried about the ph swing? I change my reservoir every 7 days. Is it just the plants using the nutrients and changing the ph? Should I change the reservoir more often to maintain the ph? My girls are looking good, no yellow, putting on new leaves and chutes like crazy

Adjust your PH back to 5.5 when it hits 6.5.

No need to change the reservoir just adjust the pH back into range and do you reservoir change on the scheduled date. You should check the reservoir pH everyday and adjust it only when it goes out of range. I like to keep mine a little tighter at 5.7-6.2.

I’m curious, are you following AN’s feed chart? I’ve always been skeptical of the pH perfect line of nutrients and you aren’t the first grower to have pH issues with them. So I’d find it interesting if it doesn’t stay stable at their recommended doses. I’ve never used AN Nutrients before so I can’t say one way or another if they do what the company claims but every nutrient line has a ratio where they are more pH stable.

I’m using Sensi Grow ph perfect. It recommends a 4 week feeding for veg 15ml-30ml-60ml-60ml for my reservoir 4gal. The guy at the store said I shouldn’t go over 6ml/gal, that would only be 24ml at the most. Idk if I should go with the AN feeding chart or the guys advice? The girls I started are clones and they had pretty big roots when I put them in buckets. Idk if I’m under feeding because of the 4 week timeline? I’ve been low stress training them so they are pretty short still, but they have about 9 stalks but only 7in tall.

It’s hard for me to say if your over or under feeding without seeing your plants and knowing the EC/PPM. I can say that you want to stay at a 50/50 ratio of A&B and the closer you are to their recommended feed levels, the more stable your pH will be. You’ll probably experience some nutrient burn, it’s probably a heavier feeding schedule than what your plants need which means you’ll be wasting a bit of money in excess nutrients, but it wont kill your plants. The ratio of A&B is more important than the quantity. You can adjust the quantity as you feel you need to, more if they are deficient and less if they show signs of burn. It’ll just require some pH adjustment if you get a little too far off their recommendations.

Update week 3. I just changed both reservoirs and upped my nutrients to 20ml a+b/per reservoir (4gal) AN ph perfect Sensi Grow. The ph was a perfect 5.5 again, but it seems to be degrading during the week. I’m going to ph the reservoir again in a couple of days and adjust if needed to stay in the sweet spot throughout the week. The girls seem to be happy, nice dark green leaves and nice white roots.
