Had a feeding for the ladies this morning. The three older gals (WW) were given 2tsp/gal of Tiger Bloom and Grow Big, with 2.5tbsp/gal of Big Bloom. The young women were given 3tsp/gal of Grow Big and 3tbsp/gal of Big Bloom. Little garden family, all growing up so fast!

Update on the mantids.
So, as I kinda expected, there's I think one per large WW. One may rotate between the two on the table. Taking pictures can be difficult, they are more wary and agile now...I'm sure due to the fact that it must have been battle royale/survival of the fittest for a few weeks. They are cannibals after all. I mist very lightly, and from a distance, in the afternoon to give them a drink. I've fed (placed food for) one of them twice, he is slightly larger and in the first picture.3 Photos

Cute little fella or gal. Hmmm I hear they eat the male after mating not real grateful are they? Your garden looks great don't you just love this gardening addiction? Those are going to be some big plants I bet they'd be over 6ft now if you'd not trained them. Very healthy grow and now you've done switched up the nutes abit mine are not quite there yet but it's days away. Just lovelySmoke Ganja create Peace Respect Nature don't trash the Planet

Well yours are showing hairs sooner than mine here in So Or. I've been out at 6am before going to work putting Flora Nova bloom on my 2 autos that are stinking up full on blooming have maybe 3wks left on them, this will be last bloom feed rest will be straight H20&unsulverated molasses. I like to starve them but that's my way. My photos are fish/guano and kelp meal teas every other watering. I'm doing full out run off on all feed and waterings. No yellowing yet on bottom of plant leafs. Great growing MeestaSmoke Ganja create Peace Respect Nature don't trash the Planet

BudGal, I wish you had a smart phone and could share! Haha. Fun being out around that time, little stinkier than the rest of the day 😋.
It's good to starve them during the final few weeks of flower, I plan on doing exactly the same..maybe nixing the other nutes and then using FF Bembe before going to straight H20 w/ molasses.

Couple of shots from this morning. It's starting to heat up in the afternoons, summer is actually here now I guess 🤷♂️. Time to invest in a misting fan, hit the high 80's yesterday.
Surprisingly, there's a fourth Mantis that has shown up. Found them last night on Strawberry Diesel, hunting another beneficial predator, a lacewing (which I haven't bought yet!).
WW#3, the most defoliated/trimmed of the bunch is progressing into flower at a faster pace than the others. Considering trimming a tiny bit more next week on the others. No fan leaves, just younger branches that will be trapped well inside the canopies.4 Photos

Dealing with the critters here. Mantids seem to be keeping things in check, I've noticed they're roaming the entire plants. Only the second time I've found a leaf like this. Whatever critter it is, it creates a web and folds the leaf in on itself for its larvae.
With the mantids getting larger, and the new batch not hatched, their food source will be changing over the coming weeks. Its getting hot, so I assume I'll be dealing with this more. My idea is purchasing 2-3x the normal ladybugs, as well as some neem oil. It appears the nursery I go to does not (want to?) order Lacewings. I assume they would have to create a larger order than simply me to turn a profit. Thankfully we live in a day and age anything can be found on the internet.
For those curious about lacewings, it's the larval stage that are "voracious eaters". Sorry about the poor quality photos, didn't check and had thought they looked better 🤦*♂️.

Would you believe me if I did one google search and came up with "Leafroller"?2 Photos

We've got leaf roller in our Aspens, but not a lot....I thought they were specific to the trees, but if they eat cannabis too, it's something I'll start watching my plants for.
Thanks for sharing and good luck managing the little phukers.

Pretty sure they're rotating into the plants from the surrounding area/trees. I'm very strangely excited, I'd like to introduce more beneficial predators and see how it goes.
Thinking about it, the mantids will most likely hunt down the leafrollers in their larvae form. If I can introduce the larvae of Lacewings as well as adults, I think I can create a beneficial ecosystem (given some of the adult Lacewings stick around). They too, along with ladybugs given the mantids hunger, will sustain each other.

Well, unleashed two containers of ladybugs last night. A handful have stuck around in various areas, and there does not seem to be a prominent fly problem, nor have I seen any sign of leaf roller or other pest. Still have one more container for tomorrow night.
I did some defoliating on 'WW#1'. The goal of having a more breatheable under canopy and removing growth either too hidden or small. The sisters are farther along entering flower, and with what appears the younger ladies any day now.
It's been about ~90F today, I thoroughly enjoyed working on my Wonderful White Widow Woman in the sun and am now beat (the smoking and beers after lunch have nothing to do with it). These are the "few" pictures I took in whatever order they were uploaded. For those who stop by, I appreciate you 🤘😎. Happy Saturday and growing y'all.

It's great how enjoyable it all is, didn't expect to be having this much fun throughout the whole process! I can see how you're loving it and will be starting Grow 11 in the future!
-
MeestaFeesha Starting it today, as a matter of fact. Still in the process of cleaning the grow boxes, but almost done, so I'm germinating come hell or high water.
Cultivating cannabis: I have this amazing energy growing in my house, which I love. After I harvested, there was a room full of bud, but there was an emptiness with no growing plants to go and see, so we are right back in the saddle again. Happy Sunday!

alltatup nice! I'll get the opportunity pull up a chair from the start! What I recently noticed, I wake up easier with that LED glow coming through the crack in the door! 🤷♂️ Therapeutic process in itself, before usage.
In other news, two interesting things I guess. One marijuana related.
When I water the little ladies I move them, in doing so I got a look at this leaf! It's formed a cone?!
Also, this yellow jacket landed on the couch next to me with a crane fly (mosquito hawk). Fun day so far! 🤘😎

Alrighty, watered all the ladies and took some fun pictures. More importantly actually photo'd my little ladies individually as they start their new cycle. Had meant to water yesterday evening, but they were still reaching for the stars so I let them dry out a little more. Choosing today to start watering before, and then finishing during the heat of the day. I normally prefer mornings or evenings, however with the heat and their black pots I don't want them to cook!
This morning and afternoon has been so active with life. There are birds actually going into the larger WW! I ended up scaring one out earlier! (WW#2)...which does help me recognize why I had to triage a woody branch that had not fully repaired itself from supercropping, and started wilting 😢. (WW#3)
Everything considered, things are wonderful here! All the ladies entering flower within a short time of each other should be fun. More exciting as the weeks will go by, I'm sure. Will be releasing the last round of ladybugs I have this evening, it seems as though the type of fly I had is much more scarce. As always, thank you all for stopping by or taking a peek at the happenings here!

Oh wow, Meesta, I can really see how they've taken off over the past two weeks since you repotted, just in time for flowering!! They look so incredibly happy, lush, green and energetic; seriously, I can practically see them vibrating, you dig? I KNOW you are totally picking up on their energy, and they on yours and the cat's. All that incredible energy circulating among you, cat, plants, insects, all the other flora around. Super good vibes; I can feel the spirit of the place from your pictures. You are a wizard!!!

Ha! Don't know about wizard, but I appreciate that! It's turned into my happy place.

Foliar fed my dahlias yesterday, the marks from leaf miner became clear as day. No other areas or plants affected. (Am I wrong in being a Tron fan and thinking a garden infested by leaf miners under blacklight could be a display?)... Anyways...There are two mantids (out of I don't know how many anymore) who have molted and are now a lighter green than the plants...their color is that of new growth, and they're sneaky buggers! It's looking like I'll find them once they, and the plants, are more mature.
Used a delivery service recently, wanted to compare Zkittlez to my Forbidden Fruit (FF is 1.5yr+ since bought locally)...well, this Zkittlez is not that great. Smell/Look A+, High B, taste, ehhh not there at all (for a strain known for it). I could probably save it for a while and give it a proper cure after rehumidifying a little and see. Gives me a taste of the massive undertaking I will have when I reach post harvest.4 PhotosLast edited by MeestaFeesha; 07-29-2019, 08:59 PM. Reason: You'll have to catch my mistakes before I do!

First time using a delivery service since around 3-4 years ago, was the zkittlez purchase as well as one of those PAX Era thingies. These days I still prefer to avoid using them as costs are so high. If memory serves, the FF came from an older gentleman who comes to the area seasonally.
The FF was a little wet and fluffy way back when, I actually thought I had finished it! Found a few little nuggets in my pipe bag while in SF, gave it to my sister's neighbor/garden buddy. He commented saying it was great...I then found the remaining buds in my large glass jar as I rotated stocks. It's on the menu for me this afternoon, as I finished the ground up zkittlez last night.

Was able to find a few mantids today, only had my phone for two 🤘😅. Then a couple pictures of WW#3. The mantids are quick! I had moved near an insect that then went towards the undercanopy, Larry Mantis here then dove from the top of the plant down to the middle!
I had been feeding each watering, while increasing the amount of Tiger Bloom and decreasing the amount of Grow Big slowly over the process. I was giving them 4gal per 25gal pot. Fabric pots create a fair amount of runoff on their own, so it's tough to judge. However, yesterday I switched back to 6gal per, also only used plain water. They're a very happy bunch today!
Things are looking good. I really just wanted to make a post about the cool mantis photos, but figured I'd fill y'all in on the happenings. Thanks for stopping by. 🤘😎

Really nice colas going to be fat, your doing great job Meesta. We are still getting about 14hrs of sun here. I don't see hairs yet on mine but there builds the bud sites. I've been cleaning the small stems out with the little bud sites really thinning a lot. Some plants will have 8 arms some up to 12. I want those primary sites to get really thick to hopefully hold foot long ummm colas
-
🤘😂, SoOrbudgal Yes, I too long for foot long...colas 😏. Uhh, I may try counting for one plant today, I'm curious as to how many there are.
I have been noticing, the first WW outside is staying behind the other two. Which leads me to believe that the change in lighting from my indoor box (6am-12am) may be my leading cause in my progressed flower. I had initially planned to adjust to regular hours(daylight) over time, that damn Electric Timer is a nightmare though. Think I'll go mechanical next time.

I have not used any artificial lighting since they were seedlings. They have been inside a unlighted unheated greenhouse from April to last part of May.The seeds were started in March. It slowed them down i'm sure they have fought through environmental flux since. Definitely affected the autos, photos are simply slow grower outdoors. I use no special booster nor have I considered forcing bloom. I am patient grower, I will use the GH in fall as needed. Hopefully WW and the higher indica strains will show flower before mid Aug.Smoke Ganja create Peace Respect Nature don't trash the Planet
