    the Bowl cut training method

I'm trying out this bowl method on this Dinafem Dinamed CDB +. I topped at the 6th node and kept everything below, splayed them out in a circle and let em rip. Defoliation along the way so far but mostly letting it do what it will do. I'l taking everything inside the wires keeping it clean and lean.
    We'll see how this goes.

hope so. saw a guy on youtube do it and he did well. Needed to rethink my approach

AKA "Stadium Training", usually used in low light applications. With the ceramic light you have, and the small space in the tent, I question the point. You'd probably get more from a SCROG.

thanks. I think it's a pretty easy way to go. I could have vegged another week, though. might not get much height

here's some more crappy pictures. I really like how the 10 colas are stacking up. I think if I keep them trimmed of large leaves I'll be a lot cleaner and leaner than previous grows. Not too tall, not too much off shooting growth. so far so good.

I like it too.... if the yield is good, the harvest will be easy. It just looks.....clean?

thanks. My grows have been out of control. Way too tall and bushy. Although the yields have been good it's been a challenge to deal with the final 4 weeks and at harvest. I also feel that if I had kept them in control I would have had better buds.

Hopefully this will work better. Such little effort this way so far

edit......I'll be doing a good defol this weekend now that the bud sites are established.

moving right along here. 10 colas, a couple are smaller than the rest but ok. Buds fattening up nicely, side growth is minimal, which I'm happy about. Staying pretty clean with just the main colas

I have heavily trained this crop to really pull stems out of the center. In fact a few broke branches but they seem to have not been affected. My problem in an earlier grow was also wild and bushy growth. I really like the clean presentation you show in the pictures

The wild bushy kills yields, at least with my grows. While I got around 12 ounces from my full tent/4 plants, there was too much small bud filling the jars. I just let it get out of hand before this one. Hope the yield is at least 4 ounces, I expect more like 3, though. Should have given it another 5 days in veg for a bit more height

Funny you’d say that... I did the same thing this time. Veg about 6 1/2 weeks but I did defoliate and tie down. It has made a huge difference

I did 4 manifolds last year. This bowl method is way easier and faster for me, although not as cool looking. The yields were really good though on them

I’d say, what’s cool is about 6 weeks after harvest...bam!

In my limited time to do this grow I totally lost track of how far I am into it. I'll need to go by sight but I think I have at least 3 weeks left, maybe 4 and these buds are getting pretty large already. just a few brown hairs. not much smell yet but it does have the signature CBD plant smell.

Awesome structure on that plant Cronk! I use the quadline method now, leaving just 2 nodes on, and it has helped my yields. This plant is far cleaner than mine though! Good job man 👍

Thanks. Since it's just one plant I have no idea if I got lucky with a clean growing pheno or not. I had a lot of trouble with this seedling. Overwatering, underwatering, not ideal conditions leading to slow growth. Maybe it's stunted somewhat and didn't take off. I think I need to do a full tent like this to see if I can manage it the same way

I really like this, I may try something similar my next grow, I didn't really like the lollipop method, I understand it, but with my set up, it just was too much.

I recommend some lolipopping with this method, too. I tried to strip the stems below where my bounding wires are or anything just above that point that seemed too small or that might take away from the main colas. just snip off anything that isn't going to grow into a fat bud. I missed quite a few and could have done better

nevertheless, this has been the easiest training so far which is great because I really only have a few minutes each day to tend

Looks terrific... so, you are removing everything that is not a main cola? Even the smaller buds that will look like they might be golf ball sized bud? And if so, when are you doing this. I’ve defoliated and lollipopped but not nearly this clean. I do have 10-12 nice colas growing up around the plant but the core in the center does have smaller growth despite the flat tabletop growth.

Thanks, Farmall. I started by clipping anything below my binding wires, or any tiny growth, little nubs or leaves that started anywhere up to the first man bud site. That was at the beginning of flower and then continually as I needed for the first 2 or 3 weeks. Then I just take any big leaves that block too much light. Then I started clipping any secondary branches that might be starting that I left as bud sites. I didn't take everything though and have lower buds on each cola, just above my wires. I guess I thought about taking them off, too but thought against it because they didn't seem to be turning into secondary branches. glad I did that because they will be nice, too. Now I just try to keep it trim without stripping it too much.

I have to say that I think I got lucky with this strain or pheno as it's stayed pretty compact and doesn't have any bushy growth, which has been a challenge for me on all my other grows. after my initial struggle with this one from seed to transplant, this took weeks as I was screwing up non stop and had no time to deal with it, I only vegged for about 5 weeks or 12" tall.. This all may have contributed to it's compact form, I don't know.

I'll have to see when I grow 3 of them and a THC strain next. I'll do the same method

I changed up my nutes at flower, too. I'm adding Liquid KoolBloom and SNS 604B since flower to the Mega Crop & extra cal-mag. 2 quarts 1x day. No idea if this helps either but these buds sure are getting fat with 4 or 5 weeks to go. could just as easily be the strain, though.

I'll try and get some better pictures on the structure this weekend
