3 Northern Lights (2 front and 1 back right) and 1 Moon Rock (back left). All 4 are photoperiods grown in soil using Fox Farm Nutrients and Advanced Nutrients Big Bud and starting Overdrive during week 6. The 1 in front left is about 6 weeks and the other 3 are going on 4 weeks.

Looking good. While to go yet.

First time doing 4 different strains. All autos. I have the front light rack lifted out of the way for the pic, but its normal position is a 45deg side light. (You can see how the lights are behind the plants).

From left to right we have:
      - White Widow: She got sick and collapsed before her first true leaves came out, but I managed to save her. Sadly has a bent trunk at the base. Little short because i switched to bloom nutes a day or two too early.
      - Cake Crasher: same nutes issue as the WW. Switched nutes too soon and stunted her.
      - Donny Burger: bushy little bastard. Been easy to grow so far.
      - Bubba White: she hit the stretch and just took off. Not sure if she’s suppose to be that lanky, but the bud sites are getting awesome light.

BTW…I’m a defoliator. I maintain my plants with defoliating that most growers would faint at the thought of it, especially since i only grow autos. So before people get too excited about it, i just want to point out that I designed my lights for the intentions of side illumination and being flexible with positioning. With the way i sidelight my grows, i get much better light penetration to the middle of the plant than could be possible with just top-down lights. So my defoliating is meant to help the little popcorn stuff be not so useless. The individual plant pics are from before defoliating today, with the exception of the Bubba White, there ain’t much to defoliate from her as it is LOL. The whole garden view is after defoliating.
There are 3 things you must check everyday when growing in hydro:
      1) Water level (How much h2o is she drinking in 24hrs)
      2) pH level (change over 24hrs)
      3) ppm/EC level (How much food is she eating in 24hrs)

Drphil69 the breeder website says it’s an “Indica dominant hybrid”.
Bluey The lights are my own DIY design and build. The output is 600W at the LEDs. There are four 48V DC drivers that add another couple of watts of consumption but not very much more. The cost of DIY was only about $900CAD (roughly $650-ish USD). My last garden (4 plants) yielded 1500g which amounts to 2.64g/watt.

My goal was to be able to adjust the light’s positions and heights to account for different size plants because, as we know, they come in various shapes and sizes. This garden is helping me to validate how flexible and adaptive the lights really are. The BW plant finally stopped at 39” tall, while the WW is barely 18”. Also note the BW is sitting on the floor while the other 3 are on rolling drip trays. As i mentioned in my post, when she hit the stretch she just climbed faster than any plant I’ve had before.

The design is also ideal for doing a big manifold since i can have the lights all be horizontal above al spread out and evenly high colas. (In theory as i have not done a SCROG yet)

        Oh cool

So each light bar is about 30W?

1.5kg from 600W is a lot. Thats huge!. With top lighting only I'm getting somewhere around 1 to 1.5g/w of top shelf bud. It varies depending on veg time and different combinations I've been using. Last grow was around 2.2kg of premium bud and I got about another 1.5kg of average to laffy bud for extracts but normally I only go for premium bud and about a 1lb a photoperiod plant is the go and I can fit 5 comfortably at that manageable size under those lights in the room.

Bought a MarsHydro 1200W about a year ago, the cheaper Bridgelux version with the wifi control. It does 7x5 in flower pretty well. It's a great light and was about US$680 delivered. Wish I got two of them.

Some more light p*rn of my lights in their sidelight positions and a pic of how i use the lights to start the plants when they are still wee small. With the lights layed out horizontal, they can be spread out to cover an area of 4’x6’ or 2’x12’ and have even light spread from a light height of 6-8 inches. If i change the DC drivers, i can literally double the wattage to 1200W but then they need some form of active cooling. The current design and wattage allows me to just use passive cooling from fans to help keep the LEDs from getting too warm. Currently, each strip will be between 35-39C and can be within inches of a bud or leaf and not cause heat burn.

Nice looking grow you have there BU2B.

Do you cut the boys as part of your pollen collection method? I liked to cut my males and take them indoors and hang them upside down with the bags on them. It would force the last of the pollen sacs to open with a low risk of contamination. I tried a few methods and that seemed to give me the most pollen with less hassle from the weather and other outdoor crap you have to put up with.

          Me quedo con dos

        Hello !!!

Started 2nd grow 4 weeks ago.

        1 crystal candy ( bag seed ) + 2 random bagseeds

The plan is to mainline according to nebula's guide

Waiting for the girls to go 6 nodes ( Do I count from the first serrated leaf ? or the 3 finger leaves )

They seem happy, growing in homemade soil with 50% field soil and 50% homemade compost.

Homemade humidifier works wonders, some ingenuity, sitcks and a glue gun goes a long way

RH goes from 50 to 55 up and down... no issues, probably will go up as the girls evolve into mainline and get bushy. I say girls.. I mean, hopefully they are girls...

Did plain PH corrected water, and started a light feed 3 days ago

        1ml / lt BioGrow.

        Cheers !

The starter leaves don’t count as a node.
So start counting nodes after the starter leaves

Beautiful! - you’ve still got the touch 👍🏼

These are a few things I've still got going in the tent. First is a Stinky Pink from Going2fast. She had budlets at 18 days and flowers at 3 weeks. Never really had a chance to grow. I kept her because I was starting my outdoor grow and I'm kinda glad I did. She's tiny but man she is stinky. Pretty buds too. The other is a Jelly Breath from In House Genetics at 48 days. I have to flip her soon. She looks frosty. I was looking at jelly breath when north Atlantic had their 1/3 off sale. Had it in my cart and their website crashed. Probably a good thing don't need to be spending money on more seeds.

Yea ductwizard it's finally been nice but another 2 1/2 days of rain coming tonight. It was free light for stinky pink after she started flowering so young so I just stuck her in a corner and let her go. I'll get a good jar and a half from her. She just started flowering way too early. Too bad cuz she's really frosty and just crazy dank for how small she is. And Going2fast I'll try and get a smoke report to you after she's cured. I hope the Jelly Breath doesn't hermie like the Slurricane 7 did from them. I think I hammered that one with too much light. Starting to figure out the new light now.

They are just beautiful plants aren’t they? Very nice job my friend. In fact a few folks here deserve some kudos. I love oogling 😂
G2F - you know your stuff bud 👍🏼. Always good to see your line in production - and Woody, don’t tell him that too much - his head will swell up and he’s already invested in a helmet. Nice job - both of you! Honest 💚

My first attempt at DWC. So far so good.
I just want the haunted perlite out of my house lol. It follows me everywhere lol.
changing up from 6 single cola sea of green to 3 5gal dwc in 2x4.
I need less work for a while and always wanted to try this.

Bubble bubble. Toil and trouble. Wash the perlite from my home lol.
ya Wayzee ya I was just showing all parts of the buckets. They stay closed. It's definitely more finicky than soil. I'm struggling with ph creep. Also I just want to let my clones develop naturally this time.

Good start mate, keep that water covered up though. you could tie those two stems down a bit to the edges of your bucket and that would be hardly any work for more gains.

yo, we sound like crime fighters ductwizard and furnaceboi. fighting cold air and high humidity.

Hey progress photo from today. This is 4 days after last basket shot.
I guess I'm doing something right lol. This is the desired result lol.

Drphil69 ya it's not soil. It's a learning curve but I haven't killed anything yet. It's very picky. I could use advice on a successful water idea.

I love the 2 top clone too. It just decided to grow symmetrically.
        looks like mini bamboo lol.

A bit of early flowering this odd, rainy season. Anyone else having this in the southeast US?

Of course, these are feminized plants which may have something to do with the early signals.

DabberDog You might laugh, but this is a full nine weeks. I had them going indoors before the last frost, but they just wouldn't grow for the longest time. They've done 90% of their growth in the last 4 weeks. An issue I've had with some of these CKS feminized strains before. They are a bit stunted in the early stages. Mutated leaf sets, etc. Once they get going they do awesome, but it takes a while.

            Hello everyone

I'm really proud of my setup and wanted to show it... I had a succesfull first grow test run

Now doing some more bagseed and practicing my mainline.

Most of the build is DIY.

Bag seed often gets an unjustified bad rap. Yes, you may not know what it is, but are you smoking good bud or yak? Just don't use seeds from yak.

The seeds comes from smoking nice weed, yes. I instinctively save the seeds I find in buds that I like. If the weed gets me high and doesn't destroy my throat, then I pay attention for seeds This time around there are 2 "Randoms" and 1 "Crystal Candy" bagseed

love your diy bro, pretty much everything i own or do is diy. two things, 1 isn't that cardboard gonna fall apart in the humidity? 2 when i pic. south america in my tiny little brain i pic. weed growing everywhere, is this not true? enquiring stoners wanna know. thanks

              Hello !!
              Thank you !

Cardboard is fine, because the fans on the outside end are always running, so any moisture that the cardboard traps, gets recirculated into the tent.
Went through the first grow with no issues whatsoever

And YES ! near the ecuator, countries like bolivia, peru, ecuador, colombia, etc. are one big bush, but the bush where I live, in Patagonia, is cold and very humid, low light levels. It's easier to control an indoor setup
