LOL! I agree with the trics...but the breeders recommendations are usually spot on for my grows. Ultimately, both are correct...at 12-12 and when the first bud hairs appear. The answer is dependent on maturity of the plant going into flip.
For those who spend a few weeks in veg, the people who are growing from seeds, then quickly flipping them into flower...they should go by the time the hairs first appear. This is because the plant has not reached maturity yet, and will need to do so before it begins to flower.
For the rest of us, (me personally as well), we veg our seeds for much longer (or grow from clone). If the plant already showed a few hairs in veg (meaning it has reached maturity before the 12-12 flip). You start the count down the day you change the light schedule.
