Ancient Chinese secret - Spilt happens

This split barely happened when I was doing a last bit of LSTing before going to flower on Sunday. Where the branch is split from the stalk is in a weird place to tape up. Duct tape doesn't remain stuck to anywhere my LED hits it. Blue (choose your own color) painters tape stay's just fine. But still no Bueno to work with.
I read to mist the split a few times a day. If I did that I would use hydrogen peroxide in water to provide more oxygen to the split and help prevent disease. Alternately, I know about wrapping parts of plants with wet plastic wrap. Not only does it keep the split moist, it can be wrapped fairly tight. It will help support the branch if used correctly. I know I'm supposed to use some sort of gel or honey. I just might get some and try cloning. Real honey or is that code for moon dust?
---I'm editing this because I remembered the gardening tape I have. Adding the third picture. Much better support. Pot prosthetics.

    Thoughts?

Use cloning gel on the splits, It really helps repair the injury and lessen unwanted stress !

I have to give credit to Mr.furley, I used to use new skin to seal split and trims (no affect on plant) but Mr.furley advised the Clone Gel and I find it works better than the new skin.

if you leave a quarter inch of stock above where your nodes are it helps prevent splits, also if you start your training earlier when plants are real flexable they dont split as much

Thanks OJH. The stems on this plant went from flexible to stiff and I didn't even notice. I've been pulling these branches down fair regular. Last night was just the tipping point.
I want to do some cloning of other houseplants I have. Maybe I should get the rooting stuff.

Howdy Gingerbeard, As OJH stated, cutting a little higher up the stem will give You a stronger stem a lessen the chance of the stem splitting.

I get y'all on that. Because it's not at the top of the plant, how would have leaving the nub at top help this split? Also, if I'm topping when there are four leaf sets, I can't quite get micro enough to leave anything. I just need to be more cognizant of what I'm doing.
I had this happen to a plant. I didn't notice it until I took the pot out to the patio for recycling. I also didn't notice a difference between colas.

I just cut one yesterday that was split like that , I dont thinks its a big problem ,I tape them up and forget about them Oh I did use some of that green soft tie stuff ,the wire is like a twisty tie but has soft green coating , anyways it was alot easier to get it around the stems and did a great job. I am also going to try Columbos idea of using rooting gel on them

Upon further inspection, the stem on the opposite side split at some point as well. That stem is otherwise healthy and the split looks like it's done some healing.
