They probably lowered it to 2.5 cause autos may not need as much as larger photos, but I've an auto now with 5 lbs of kind soil in 5 gallon container, and so far I'm only seeing spectacular results (fingers crossed). Maybe I'm overdoing it....time will tell! 🌻
How far along are they again?

Im going with 5 gallon smart pots. These are the only 2 autos i have so i figured use them in the 5 gallon because thats what i plan to use with the others.

The ones im growing now are:

2 auto blue diesel from advanced seeds

The other seeds i have that i will plant after these:

3 feminized lemon candy seeds from 710 genetics
3 feminized super stinky seeds from 710 genetics
2 feminized white widow seeds from g13 labs
2 regular strawberry diesel x spacedude from tga subcool
1 feminized critical super haze from delicious seeds
1 feminized cotton candy from delicious seeds
1 feminized cherry bomb from bomb seeds
1 feminized chemdog #4 from blimburn seeds

All the seeds that i have 1 of were free.

My Bubba was 23 days from sprouting in the last photo posted.
5 gallons should work for you, others like Nugs use 3 gallon (3lbs kind to 3gallons), and that may be sufficient for an auto...can't say for sure if 5 gallons is too much since this is my first Kind grow. My other grows in coco/perlite were in 5 gal., and the root systems had no problems filling those smart pots quickly! Your future seed selection is ambitious...wish you well on those. I did white widow auto as my first grow, and it was a charming variety! 😊

Alright ladies and gentlemen i want to thank everyone for helping and also want to apologize for being a pain and asking alot of question.

well i have another question and i want to know if something major is wrong with my babie. The leaves started curling down but the tips started pointing up. (Pic to help diagnose) its only one plant. The second is doing great.

they are in little cups so could that be causing alot of stress? I use tap water ph is 6.0. I adjusted the light to see if that would help. Its now sitting 24in high.

Hmmm, I may be wrong on this, but it looks as if they might need a little drink with a very diluted nutrient solution. The yellowing is what concerns me. Haven't tried the Pro Mix myself, but I'm wondering if it might be lacking something to get that baby moving along in its growth. Just a thought...maybe more experienced cannabis growers will respond.

The top were a little dry but moist towards the bottom. So i dont know if its a feeding issue.

I have nutes so if i need to add some i will. Just what ones should i add? And they are not in the kind soil yet. I was going to wait till they got alittle bit bigger before i transplant them. If it was the soil wouldnt the other plant be doing the same thing?

Ok, so when did those brown tips show up? I mean, the growth looks good: you've got new leaves coming in, and they ARE growing. When did the brown tips show up? AND, if it's not happening on any more leaves, maybe you corrected the problem.

      #36
looks like you over watered them severely...only need to water as big as the plant is around....way too much....waaaaaay

I cut back on watering after the first time. I water about maybe after a day and a half if that. And when i water i just let it get moist i dont drown it.

Also do you know of any reasons why the tips would be curling up?

      #37
So i was having a feeling my humidity reader was off so i got a new one. My original one said i was at 50% but the new one says im at 25-30%. Could the air be to dry causing the tips of the leaves to curl up?

i have a humidifier that i just placed near one of the vent wholes in the tent. Ill leave it there for awhile and see what happens. I might have to adjust the temp since the humidifier is now running.

It hasnt been that long and humidity is up to 40%. So i think im doing something right. Hopefully this fixes the problem because i cant think of what ive been doing wrong. I got my watering under control. Temp is 72 night 78 day. Im not siding nutrients im using kind soil. Ph is 6.0-6.5 i have good air flow in the tent. So im hoping the humidity will fix things.

Thank you so much for that. I read it carefully to see what i could find. It seems it might be because my humidity was too low and all though i thought i had watering in control i didnt and looks like ph is just a little low not 100% sure yet. So i raised humidity to stay between 50-60% and i just havent watered between yesterday and today. I also transplanted them into bigger pots with a little bit of kind soil under. Not alot just 2 tea spoons each. Since i havent watered i plan on raising ph to 6.5-7. So far the leaves seemed to straighten out a little bit. And its only been about 6 hours so im happy about that. They are continuing to grow even though they are having problems but i have hope. I think i might be able to bring them back. Thank you for all the help. But im sure the help isnt over lol

Don't forget to talk to them, worship them, love them. They are precious powerhouses just beginning their journey.

Keep us updated! Remember: folks say keep it moist, no waterlogged, not dried out!!

Heres a quick xmas update. After many problems (witch is expected with my first grow) the babies are starting to get better. They are still bad but im sure i can bring them back. I still havent watered them because they dont need it right now. And i raised the humidity to a steady 40-50% the light is 24 inches away and the plants seem to like it.

the pics are from today of the babies. Believe it or not they were much worse. Little by little they are coming back.

Not to butt in but I think the root rot had a play in slower growth...not the cutting off a couple fan leaves....

Thats awesome ill have to look for that post. I do care for these plants they are my little babies and plus i put a decent amount of money into this so i dont want that to go to waist. But honestly its fun. Its been suck a short time with many problems but theres something soothing about it. Its relaxing and i feel accomplished everyday they continue to live. I want to try other ways such as using nuts in soil and dwc. Right now im going the super soil route.

I cant wait to see the pics im sure they look amazing

Im looking forward to the pics.

Thanks i do hope so. The plant that was worse off (baby A) is doing great starting to take off. She doubled in size over night which is amazing. The second plant (baby B) is just now starting to come around. She grew alittle bit not much but i see improvement. I have to work all day today so i wont be able to keep as close of an eye as i would like to but im sure they will be fine. The soil was dry up to about an inch and a half for i gave them ph 6.5 water. Humidity is good at 45%. Ill take pics when i get home and post them. Im sure both plants will show improvement and growth when i get back.

I have 2 Aurora Indicas, 1 Super Silver Haze, 1 Maui Wowie, 1 Jack Herer, 1 Blueberry, and 1 White Rhino. No training whatsoever. All Au Naturale. Yes I could get more yield, but the plants would be wider, and decrease the number of plants, and thusly the number of strains. I like to stay within the light perimeter. My grow room is in the basement of one of my wife's rental properties which has a partial dirt basement. I have dug what I call a Flowering Pit so have no constraints on vertical growth. It works out well with only a 600 watt HPS for flowering. We happy!

So heres a pic of the babies. Baby A is making a great come back and is growing fast. Baby B is taking a little longer to get back. She has slower growth but she is growing just slowly. I do believe both will be fine and survive. They are both getting thier color back slowly.

Actually i have been writing everything down. Ive learned from reading gwe, that a journal can help alot. Every step ive taken so far had been writen down.

At first I didn't realize it was root rot cuz I couldn't smell any funk, but Nebula posted on my thread that that's what it looked like. Then I touched it and it was slimey and decayed. So I realized that my old bottle of Hydroguard was expired, I opened the new one and threw out the old one. Changed the reservoir and thoroughly cleaned it with paper towels--wiped it down real good, put in new water nutes and Hydroguard, pH balanced the water, and when I had it all in the reservoir, I squirted all over the roots. I also gently pulled off as much of the dead stuff as I could. I never would have guessed root rot in the winter, cuz my first grow was during the hottest time of year, and no problems. But I had used the Hydroguard religiously and the bottle was good over the summer.

And that was why my girls were growing so slowly. They looked good up top, but I had the root problem. They are picking up some speed now, but I have realized that this is going to be a long, slow grow. I'm just taking it as the girls dictate, and I keep reading stuff over and over from GWE. It's SOOO much to learn and absorb and juggle, and I'm really trying to do the LSTing right, but I'm pretty sure that I started a little too soon, and during the root rot. But the girls are good for now, and I'm willing to keep on learning thru failure as well as success. I made dry ice hash this morning with a friend's trim from his OG Kush harvest; I'ma post a pic below. Messy, but fun!!!!

Im glad you got it sorted out. The gwe is a great tool to have. Ive been reading more and more. I was thinking about lst but im not sure yet because i dont want to mess anything up. I want to get a little more info and maybe watch a few videos to get a look at how its really done.

The two bigger jars are the OG Kush trim that I worked with today. The little bottle is what's left of my Chemdawg dry ice hash that I made with the trim from my first harvest. See the difference in color? The Chemdawg is a nice yellow, and the OGK is much greener because the guy who trimmed treated it like shit. Then I think it may have been exposed to too much heat and light as well. I tried to tell my friend to tell his friend to treat trim nicely if you want the hash to treat you nicely, but they didn't care. I vaped a bowl of it, tho: it's good, but has green stuff in it. I looked at it under my microscope: that's the second picture. I'm not sure, but I think the brown color indicates degradation of the THC from heat, etc. Not sure, tho. Maybe someone else will comment...

Nebula has a great video on it: that's how I learned. It's super easy!!! http://www.growweedeasy.com/dry-ice-hash
Yeah, it was a lot!! I got it all over the kitchen, all over me!! I tried some and it was ok, but I don't think they really know what they doin--as I said, especially not with the trimming of buds. I also learned how to do that the right way on GWE. I learned everything I know there. The way she explains it, it's a total labor of love. The day I harvested my monster Chemdawg plant, I spent from 9 to 5 trimming sugar leaves, separating the fan leaves, placing the buds carefully on their tray. Then I did stick the sugar leaves in brown bags and let it sit for a while. I thought it should cure the same way buds need to cure. Someone on here said there's no need to cure it: that's only to get rid of the chlorophyll, but I think the cure is more than that, so I will continue to cure the trim before making hash.

Pretty soon you can start gently bending the stems on your girls: Nebula says it makes for better nutrient uptake and stronger buds. Check this out:http://www.growweedeasy.com/basics#vegetative-stage

            Really good fundamental info about veg stage. That entire page is fantastic. Don't know how many times I've read it. Now go read the girls a bedtime story! ;-}
