    Here comes the pain

Here in the north east we’re expecting our first major snow + ice storm tonite, probably going to loose power for at least a day or two.
im making sure I have gas enough for both the blower and generator and my quad will start all before it begins.
Flashlights and candles at the ready, and plenty of wood for the fireplace.
im feelen lucky, my latest grow are seedlings at the moment, much easier to keep alive with no power than full size plants.
a few years back I lost a full size grow to Sandy, and I have been preparing for this ever since 😎 stay safe.

I'm in Upstate NY, 10 miles south of Lake Ontario, we got 4" yesterday and they say were going to get up to 2 feet by Monday morning. Hope all goes well for you and you don't get ice.

alltatup, We got 14" last night, 8DegF right now, wind will kick up to 30mph today with another 8" expected later today and tonight. Time to fire up the snow blower and do the driveway. My son lives near Buffalo, in West Seneca a couple miles from the Buffalo Bill stadium,it's not the place to live if you don;t like snow as I'm sure you remember. So time to blow then hibernate until tomorrow morning. Good day to make a pot of Chili.

I am also in New England. Vermont. Unfortunately I do not have a generator or any backup system if I lose power. And to make matters worse this is my weekend to work and I have to drive 30 miles South to work and 30 miles back at midnight tonight. I've. Seedlings, clones, plants in veg, and plants in the 12:12 room. I am not looking forward to this but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Prickly pear flower in peach color. From this flower comes a red fruit that tastes like a pear.

Hey fellow growers, in the garden state did not get what they said but that would not affect me as I have a Gen for emergencies because of Sandy. Before that for emergencies I bought two used heavy duty Big marine batteries and a nice solar charger and an inverter that ran my system at half capacity. Its always ready when you need it, The more batteries in the grid the longer the running time. SOLAR energy. This would be for a small grow only . But it works! (Old style lights) Hope all went well for you north of me and the weather didn't put a damper on your grows! Be safe!

That is my dream right there. Solar power! I don't even have a generator at this point but if I could ever get some money rolling in here I'm definitely going to go solar. Yesterday all day it was one Fahrenheit. Today it was 2 Fahrenheit. And oddly enough in the next four days is going to go up in the 40s. Like they say in Vermont, if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute!
