    Happy happy Furley!

Great tip for cleaning fabric pots, but how would you clean one that has had colloidal silver dripping into it, or should I just pitch it?

Probably would suggest to clean it and set it aside for your next colloidal silver grow plant you do not plan on consuming, @starramus
I can't speak from experience on that one.

I had something similar. Thought it was WPM. Stuck a fan on my fabric containers and never saw it again.

Handy hint! I expect I'll need it, living in a place where one liter of the tap water can give you 1% of your recommended calcium intake for the day.

Thanks for the knowledge, and a Happy New Year to you too!

When I was using smart pots I cleaned them using a very similar method and it worked well.
Once I started getting a salt buildup on the outside of the pots_ shows how well they breathe_ and just used a brush with a weak solution of white vinegar and brushed them off and got rid of it for good.

I just turn them inside out and hang them on my clothes line spray with garden hose and leave for up to a month twisting in the wind and rain, Mother Nature’s washing machine 😎

Sounds good to me. I'm using plastic buckets now because I have AIT's in the bottoms. I still like the idea of fabric planters but they don't work well with the AIT's. I've been running the AIT's next to plants in planters without them and the ones in the AIT's are consistently a little bit larger, most of the time. So I'm using them now.

Air injection technology, basically pumping air into the root system I think @oldJarhead is trying this.

                    #12
Yes, its a similar system to the traditional air injection used in hydroponics reservoirs_ even uses the same pumps except they just have porous insulation like stuff that lets the air out but keeps fine particles from clogging up the lines. When the injection is on and the are planters are fully saturated they bubble at the top_ its weird but effective and supper easy to flush. Using a very porous medium works best (there's a drainage hole in the bottom so you can let them drain completely every time you water. Sometimes I don't plug them at all so the roots get to dry just a little. You can also water whenever you want since you can let them drain and then the pumps will keep air moving up through the medium_impossible to overwater. Different but it works for me.

Thanks for this Furley! I have a few fabric pots with salt buildup and was wondering how to clean them...don't have a bucket though. Eh, a reason to drop by my grow shop (like I need a reason).

Happy new year everyone! I began the new year having to get a dental crown put on...fun fun.

If you have a sink to use then no bucket is need, I don't have running water so I soak them in a bucket after cleaning to remove ( dilute) the vinegar.
