Hey y'all! So I'm doing the full mainline for my 1st time, I'm at 4 colas right now so I need to top them all once more for 8. Im wondering when I should start training the new shoots away from eachother? I'll post a pic, they are very short and thick so hopefully they get easy to bend as they get bigger .And I noticed some of the nodes aren't at equal spacing, should I not top at those points?

So you have 4 colas? Are you doing nugbuckets manifold method or Nebula's mainline?https://forum.growweedeasy.com/forum...-she-s-a-beast

Hey. I let them get a few inch’s tall before I tie them. As the tutorial says as long as the branches are bendable.
When the nodes are uneven, you grow them out and LST by pulling the tallest branch further out towards the walls. Just make sure you are as close to a flat even canopy as possible after all is said and done.4x4 600w HID empty for summer

I agree with toker. I always let them get to about 2-3 inches before I strap them down. I always test them by bending them just a little bit. This let's me know how stiff the branch is and gives me a rough idea of how far I am able to bend it.
It's also good to pre-bend them before you stake them down. I just push it close to where I want, and let it go back to where it was. I do this a few times, and each time I move it a little closer to where I plan to stake it. I lost an entire main stem on one of my mainlines from bending it too far and not giving it a little pre-bend action. She ended up being a Hermie.
