    Been fighting bugs. GRRRRRR!!!!!

Thrips, I've been battling them the last 3 weeks. First with insecticidal soap. That didn't work, so this morning I bombed them with Doctor Doom. I will check them tomorrow and see. I'm 2 weeks into flowering and want to nip them in the butt ASAP.

    Are you growing outside?

No, I'm inside. I fought them last year. Discovered them in the last 2 weeks of flowering and didn't do anything at that time because I didn't want to interfere with the taste. Besides they didn't get into the buds.

Do you know how you're getting thrips? From clones? Once they're on your plants, thrips are kind of tricky

Insecticidal soaps do work somewhat on thrips but you need to apply it daily, and it should be combined with something else for the best results. Spinosad products are kind of the same way, they're only good for a about a day on the plant, and are best used daily or combined with something else if you already have an infestation. Pyrethrin products work too (which is also what's in Doktor Doom) but just like Insecticidal Soaps and Spinosad, Pyrethrins don't last on the plant for more than a day. Even if the thrips seem gone after the Doktor Doom, I would make sure to treat your plants at least 1-2 more times with one or more of the other options just to make sure the thrips are actually gone, instead of just in hiding. Otherwise you may accidentally breed super thrips Neem oil also can kill thrips and lasts on the plant longer than the other options, but I know some growers avoid it for various reasons, especially later in the flowering stage because the smell can stick on buds.

No matter what you're using, you'll usually get the best results if you apply your treatment with a mister (also called a "One-Hand Pressure Sprayer") to spray all the leaves evenly. Make sure to get every part of the plant including underneath the leaves! Also make sure to spray before they go to sleep so they don't get burned by the lights. Whenever using anything new, it's a good idea to test it on a small part of the plant first and wait a day to see how the plant reacts, just in case you try to give it something too strong. I hope that helps! Since you're catching it early they shouldn't affect your harvest!

I'm pretty sure they came in the soil. Neem oil is my next option. There doesn't seem to be an all out investation . I can just see the tall tail signs. I have seen them with a jewelers loop. No adults, just lava.

I finally got the Thrips issue under control. After using insectercidal soap, pyrethren Dr. Doom and what have you. I think I found the cure. Captain Jack's Deadbug Brew and Dyatomous earth. the only Thrips I see now are dead. If you haven't herd about Spinosad look it up.

Thanks for the feedback Kingfish, I've had good success with neem oil. I used it during flowering because of the same issues but rubbed it onto the leaves top and underside with my fingers to keep it away from the buds. My buds are drying and they don't have any bad odors.

I've heard spinosad is the ultimate thrip killer. I wished it worked on spider mites as well, but what do you expect from the spawn of Satan?

First of all I see by your username that you are a Viet vet like myself. Thank you for your service brother. We didn't get the same welcome as vets do now. So let me be the one to welcome you here.
I use Neem oil however I'm 5 weeks into flowering and I don't want to use it. Because it leaves a crappy taste this late in flower.

What if its hand applied to leaf only and the buds stay far from the neem?

If you don't get it on your buds, then you will be fine. I had a Borg (spider mites ) infestation once late in flowering and sprayed the entire plant, bud and all. Talk about some harsh tasting shit. Just don't get it on your buds.

You're right it killed the hell out of Thrips. I hope I never have to use it on the Borg. I:m also using Dyotomous earth. Excuse the spelling.

Thanks Brother, I appreciate you and your thanks. Yeah, it still haunts me, what we did and the hollow lonely return afterwards. Cannabis really helps my PTSD. Well I hope I don't have any nasty tasting smoke. But since I've never had this strain I might not know the difference, lol. Take care Bro, glad to know you!!

Thank you gentlemen for your service. I'm glad to hear cannabis helps you guys. I can't imagine the horrors you've had to experience. It brings a tear to my eye just thinking of it.

                          May God bless you both.
