    Soaking seeds

I'd like to hear from people who soak their seeds prior to planting. The first round of seeds that I started I soaked for about 8 hours. I'm reading some people soak overnight, like 12 or more hours. Some say you don't have to soak it all. And some say use a paper towel method. Which I probably will not do. I'm planning on soaking 5 OG Kush seeds when I come home from work tonight and planting them tomorrow morning. In the Roto Rooter plugs. Any thoughts?

Just add water. Dont put them in the direct sunlight, and keep them warm.

I have sprouted many ways with different types of seeds. I prefer the papertowl wet between two plates. They all will work

Please visit www.honestgr.ca for reviews on grow equipment. It is going slowly as I am trying to find products to review (and supportive companies!) I do giveaways there, do not tell me your from GWE however.

I soak all my seeds in water till the tap root comes out of the seed, than plant tap root down about 1/2 “ deep and spray twice a day with PHed water.

Wow! Thank you all for your prompt replies! I will be putting the plugs and a small covered but vented tray on a heat mat. Using CFL lights on them until they're old enough to go under my LEDs. So here comes round two!

I soak until they sink when you shake the container. Use cleanest water you can and just don’t let them too long.

As you can see, doesn't seem to matter to much. I just throw my beans in a shot glass and add tap water. soak overnight and then place on wet paper towel layers in a sealed plastic container in dark cupboard in the kitchen. Usually takes a day or two before she pops and then into rapidrooters.

Why not just start your seeds in the rapid rooters? The last time around I soaked them for about 8 hours and then place them in the rapid rooters on a heat mat and they took. Curious why you would wait...

Greenpassion its all on preference of the grower, you could do that, but if they dont germinate it would cost you slightly more $ for that rapid rooter. Unless you chose to try another, but then its behind by a few days!

At least if you use an alternate way, you will be sure it has sprouted and all are planted the same day!
