    Grandma perpetually grown Meds

Hello everyone! I’m back, and I’m helping my grandma grow her meds.

I’m using coco coir and perlite in fabric 3 gallon pots. Veg light: 100w LED
Flower light: BESTVA 390w 677umol/s (estimated from PPFD map)LED
    Dyna gro/ dyna Bloom +PK boosters+ Mammoth P

I’m growing 5 Bluewreck seeds, blueberry x trainwreck by SeedsBankseeds(a local NM breeder that does FB giveaways)
Also 10 AC/DC x Otto 2 hemp, by organic green roots(a Oregon Hemp farmer that used to sell very seedy and industrial hemp that I scoured a few hundreds seeds from)
until flower and they’ll be reduced to 2 of each.

They will be manifold trained with 10 lines instead of eight. Half will be super cropped to estimate the impact of that technique side by side

There are two hidden photos you have to click to, they are the plugs in a seedling tray with the tails in and the seed hanging just out the top

I saw them it looked like you had to dig them out a little to get seed in them just sharing how I do it , I just used some cloth bags to start 10 seeds in and lost 7 so I'm back to root riots I've always used them with a few adjustments lol

It took a long time and a drastic amount of convincing to make it happen, and my grandfather said if I have been doing this with her even 5 years ago he would have shot me.

Can you imagine how cool it would have been in my 20s to have known an old dude like myself who grew his own pot legally. That would have been in the 60s. Wow.

Hello hello! Day 3 and they’ve outgrown their tray already and I have transplanted them into solo cups of coco coir hydrated with 6.0 ph water with a cal mag sup.
Currently under two 9.5w LED lights until we get the shed temp under control.

photos will get more detailed and focused on each individual plant once I get them in the shed and transplanted into their final 3 gal pots

End of week 1 day 7, and we have gotten the shed cleared out and hooked up with electricity. Have a portable AC unit in there cooling it down to 68F it was at 90F when I left.
100W LED white spectrum light is up and vegging over the seedlings.

At least you have a law that lets you have 12....I live in a non-legal state.

Redwasp. I can say in this state, I can grow for my wife and currently each citizen who owns a Maine resident ID Can legally grow 6 plants each, if you include both medical cards at 6 each then yes we can grow 24 plants at a time, flowering, unlimited seedlings. As for amount we can hold I think currently it’s 2 pounds each. If we grow as a caregiver and grow say 12 plants and they can’t use it we can keep it as long as it doesn’t go over their two pounds.

In my state you can grow 12 for yourself. If you are a caregiver you can grow 12 for each patient you have. You can have 6 patients, one of which is yourself, so you can grow up to 72 plant at one time.

Oh, and you're only allowed to possess 2 oz of dry ready to smoke weed. I think they really need to rewrite that law Because I never have more than 4 plants, and I'm not gonna admit to being a lawbreaker or anything, but.....let's say 2oz is an extremely unreasonable amount given the number of plants you can have. And if you're maxed out on patients as a caregiver, I believe you can have 15 oz total. Again, ridiculous for that many plants.

Hey wait a minute I'm a grandparent too. But I'm called Papa.

And I always use what I think are called Rapid Rooters. Almost 100% success getting them to germinate. However have had a few fail to thrive after that. But then again in my opinion the first 2 weeks are by far the hardest.

Once I see my seedlings emerge, I don't worry about them; I keep them appropriately moist, under 400w MH bulb, and leave them alone. (Well, I do talk to them a little.)
The second half of flowering is most stressful for me: hoping the buds get fat, trying to keep the girls stress-free and happily fed...
But mostly I just worship them and give thanks for this amazing plant, which is in the Old Testament--kaneh-bosm in Hebrew.

I agree with allatup, once the seedling is out, I am fine, just ready to give her what she needs. Waiting on the seeds to germinate is my stressful time. I've had a lot of issues with the Seedsman seeds I got. I've had several not germinate at all, and a couple of plants were really weird. I grow 2 strains at a time, only 2 plants. It's enough for me for a perpetual grow. Have a wonderful grow!

bluecanoe Was Seedsman the breeder on the seeds you had trouble with? I've got some of their freebies, but I'm too busy with the bigger name breeders' seeds...

      #7
Going to be totally honest I’m stressed about the seedlings I’ve only ever lost plants during this stage. And I was so amazed that all 5 of my bluewreck popped I don’t want to lose any until I’ve been able to choose the best from them.

hey furrysparkle, looking good! I noticed AC DC in your mix. Are you growing that for pain and low thc effects? I have a Nirvana critical CBD just flipped to flower 2 weeks ago, link is in my signature. It's 1:1 thc to cbd. Looking for daytime pain relief without being stoned.

oldjarhead100 I got those directly from Nirvana seeds. I use several seed companies so if I said the wrong one before sorry. But those came directly from them. And I would assume they would be close not sure about the same.

Redwasp every state is different, however for New Mexico it’s 16 per production license and you can have a max of 2 at a single address, and both patients will need to get a license, so yes you can double it if you have 2 licenses

And to your second concern there is a limit you can BUY as a NM patient, that’s also laid out by law and the only other enforcement is how much you can carry on you at a time, personal harvest is personal property and private info.

Yep, there is several reasons I’ve come to this awkward veg cycling. I’m also likely going to start my flowering at 13/11 to help ease the plants into flower and off the triple cycle.

      #11
Guest yes, the way the plant absorbs light suggests that giving the plant time to process the light it absorbed before giving it more, will generate better veg growth, while utilizing electricity in hopefully a better way. Plus I’m growing in a shed and I’m very concerned with heat

I read that surna article and they make a lot of sense. For flower, are you doing 11 hours on and 13 off? I've heard that is a good way to jumpstart flowering and maybe shave a week off flower time. Or are you doing 13 on and 11 off and then moving to 12/12?

Found the 6/2 article very interesting, TFS furry. I am always up to try something new. Wondering if it would effect autoflower?

      #12
Sheesh 13 on 11 off, for prolly a week to adjust them off the triple cycle then 12/12, prof they start flowering with that I may leave it

Changed my mind, 12/12 solid switch I’ll play with light cycles on my own harvests, not hers.

        Day 12!
5 days of running 6/2 and everything is looking good, the white spots are calcium residue from the water.

Temp at the plants is between 76-79F
PH at the roots between 5.9-7
Moved them closer to the light as a few are stretching.
If you’ve done coco and perlite before with 18/6 or 24/7 is there any noticeable gain from leaf and node count vs days grown.
