To freeze or not to freeze?

I have access to a top load freezer, I plan on keeping my latest grow in it after it’s done cureing. Buds are Jared with humidity packs 6.2 .
the freezer works but has been unplugged for a few years for conservation.
    Q. Should I plug it in and freeze my buds in the jars..... OR
Just store jars in unplugged freezer ?

    I vote for unplugged.

Subbed! I want to know about this, too. Every time I hear of storing weed in a fridge/freezer all I think of is how it dehydrates everything.

Unplugged freezers and refrigerators can harbour nasty mold and mildew. I've seen some nasty stuff grow in them if left unplugged with the door closed.

Assuming it’s clean, and buds are Jared as I said, no way for mold to get at them. Its a cool dark place for long term storage I think lol

Just like the song, store it in a cool dry place.

Cool Dry and Dark, don't forget Dark. After harvest, THC does not like light.

I second for unplugged unless you are storing it for more than a year

Can't speak from first hand experience but I'm not a fan of freezing and diffently wouldn't keep it in an unplugged freezer. Temps and humidity (along with a host of other nasties) could become a problem. I keep mine in one quart mason jars in a dark place in my basement (constant cool temps). Have some that is well over one year old and smoked some yesterday.... oh yeah! Just my 2 cents...

What lids do you use on your jars? Or everyone else for this matter? May make a difference in the long run.

Canning jars use a lid with a seal that seals when heated. I have never heated my medicine jars to seal tthe lid, but I have not had enough for it to last long enough for it to be an issue.

My wife bought me some reusable lids that seal without heat for my lunch box. But pricey for as many jars as we use.

I store mine in jars in my kitchen cabinet. All the way at the top, in the dark.
                    No need to freeze.

I use regular Mason Jar Lids. After my last burping, I close them real tight and you be surprised how tight it seals over time.

I know exactly what you mean. We have a cabin at 5,000' but we live close to sea level. When I take a jar up or down the mountain it either pressurizes or vacuums. I was just curious what experience people had long term. As I haven't made it more than a few months.
