When do you take the ties off your plants?

I've been lst the entire time. Was wondering if you take the ties off once it starts to flower. All of my lower bud sites are tied down. Should I let them go now or keep them tied up?

    Depends on your flowering setup.
I have a SCROG net, so when my girls go into flowering, I remove all the ties, and use the net.

I don't have a screen. I've just been tying down branches. Now that is flowering didn't know if I let them grow to the light or keep them tied down.

I would say: Set them free

My take on lst-I just try and get as even a canopy as I can. Once the basic structure is achieved, I remove the restraints and let the plant finish. Set her free...

Some of mine are still there on harvest day.
          completed 7 grows
what I have learned so far:
          environment maters more than nutrients
at least a dab of nutrients in every watering
effective flushing before harvest is critical to quality

I keep them tied down to the pot, until the branches are thick, the buds are heavy- then I rotate the ties around and support the branches.

I'll see what it looks like in a day. If they grow together I'll just tie them back down.

I can't really tell what's tied down or why didn't you tie it all down? Is that most of the plant just to the left of what you outlined? If so then why is it growing vertically and your trying to tie down part of it?

I'm not much of an LST 'er but have done it a few times and know one has to be forceful when trying to restrain the branches cuz the plant will just force her way up to grow vertically like she wants to.

I've realized one reason for growing autoflowers is one wants buds sooner than later. Fimming/topping/LST'ING - they all slow the plant down by a few weeks or more. Have a CBD auto growing which will be ready for harvest in just over sixty days.

The whole bottom is tied down. It grew that way because I didn't top it or anything just tied down what I could. It's my first auto so I did my best. The bottom is somewhat the way I wanted it. I'm just glad I made it this far honestly.

<Fimming/topping/LST'ING - they all slow the plant down by a few weeks or more.>

Canuck, I respectfully disagree when you say LST will slow down growth. I always LST and the only time I notice any slowdown is when I top them. Then you are right. It will slow them down a week or more. But I don't see it by just LSTing.
