Help Diagnosing Drooping: 2 days post-transplant; DWC

    • These are White Shark clones (my grow journal is here: Cloning)
      • They were rooted in an aeroponic cloner
      • Then set in RW plugs placed in 3" RW cubes in net pots (see "Before Transplant" pics, below)
      • They remained in this "nursery box" for 3 weeks (much too long, but that's another story) while I did some training
    • Two days ago I "transplanted" them (i.e., transferred ... took them in their pots to a new box to transition to Flower)
      • They were consistently perky up until transfer, and have been drooping ever since the move
      • I've considered over- and under-watering, but I can't see how that would occur (automated fertigation schedule; same medium)
    • These variables have NOT changed as a result of the move:
      • Temps (air/rez; night;day); RH; Airflow (possibly some directional changes)
      • Medium; pH; TDS; CO2
      • Fertigation schedule; photoperiod; light spectrum (I have not yet turned on lower T5s of UV CFLs)
    • These variables HAVE changed as a result of the move:
      • They are now under TWO 400W MH (nursery chamber has ONE 400@)
      • They are now in a 4' x 2' space (nursery chamber is 3' x 2') and over 12 gal (vs 8 gal) rez
      • There may be some difference in DO in the rez; somewhat different type/configuration of air stones - but nothing dramatic
      • They were tied down as part of manifold training in the nursery box, and many still have their "tethers" attached, but I have not yet re-tied them down in the new box (was wanting to minimize transplant stress ... would have done it by now if they weren't drooping)
Not sure what to make of the drooping and will be grateful for any thoughts

Just did a calculation re light (luminance: W/m2)

    Veg Chamber (Nursery): 3' x 2' = 6 ft2 = 0.56 m2..... 400/0.56 = 714 W/m2

    Flower
    Chamber: 4' x 2' = 8 ft2 = 0.74 m2..... 800/0.74 = 1081 W/m2

So, that's a 50% increase in luminance. Could this explain the drooping??

For some reason I'm thinking colder temps at the root mass just went through that with pink kush 6 week in flower and ac running all the time ... really frustrating but that's what it was and with my clone with a diy project put a heat mat under it and presto babies back..

Thanks very much Greengringo. I’ll adjust the res temp up a degree and see what impact that has.

Nice setup rangi ..good luck and keep a close eye on them cause things move quick in water but can be corrected quickly also

It occurs to me now that perhaps having released the tie downs during the move but not immediately resecuring them in their new home, they got “confused” because - in addition to the increased light - they were also not oriented toward the light the way they had been.

        Re-tied them just now.
