FIRST STAINS!? First grow, first problem. Look! Budporn included

Click image for larger version Name: Views:	1 Size:	1.94 MB ID:	210938 Hello again fellow growers.

I am doing my first hydrogrow and everything has been going really well, especially for being the first grow.

Right now I am in the middle of week 5 flower.

    Equipment:
    Two tents, 150×150
Mars pro II cree 256 light
    360 L Rdwc with 22 5 Gal buckets.

    Nutrients:
    Gold label A
    Gold label B
    Ultra PK
    Ultra MG
    Ultra NK
    Enzyme
And ofc some good old PH down.

    Medium:
    Gold Label Hydrocorn

    Seed:
Green house seeds White Widow Feminized

I am growing in two separate tents but the RDWC flows thru them both.

I haven't used any techniques during veg and first 3 weeks of flower. ( I have learned what to do to prepare for better yields in my next grow(witch already are in week Three veg, I'll leave that out for now)

In Tent 1. I just have an soft supportnet to prevent the plants from spreading out to much
In Tent 2. I am using an SCRoG net. here everything is going really well. No problems what I can see.
In the second tent however i have some issues I hope to get some feedback on.

    Issue 1.
I have posted a thread regarding this issue earlier but I'm not sure what to do, the plants differs much in height(If I even need to do anything?)
    Issue 2.
FIRST STAINS !? So thru out the whole grow I haven't had any stains/nute/ph burns. I just found them on two of my plants, so I hope I can prevent the others from getting I'll.
Plant 1. The stains are mainly on the top leaves, the stains look like cupper.
    Plant 2.
The stains are only on the lower leaves and look something like dried saltwater-stains. I also perceive these leaves as soft and "lifeloosing"

The weird thing is that I am growing all of them In the same hydroculture.
    My PH was at 6.5
    Watertemprature 22°
EC between 2000-2900 ( I believe my EC meter needs calibration, I have two and one of them showed 2000 and the other 2900)

So my first guess was to much nutrients.
The action I have taked today:
I poured out 50 l from the RDWC and replaced it with 50 l tap water to lower nutrient level.
    I also ph:d down to 5.8-6.

For all of you who had the patience to read thru all this I'll soon reward you with some budporn.

As I wrote in the beginning it's going well and I can see buds forming everywhere, i also saw my first trichomes today. It was like the first time I saw porn, amazing, interesting, scary and beautiful at the same time. 😅

    To be short:
Do I need to do anything about the height difference(I can see difference in the development of the the buds) ?
    What are the cupperstains ?
What are the salty stains ?

Last question, I found a branch that broke a few days ago.
When I found it I taped it and gave it support. Will this heal or should I cut it of ?

[Edit 1.] The order of the pictures dont correspond with the red thread in my thread. Hope you'll be fine anyways.

    DAMN I LOVE GROWING

    Hey Dr. Moggs,
    great post and good growing!
stains look like the might be Ca deficiency. However, if it is only on older leaves that wouldn’t fit. Are the leaves with issues getting plenty of light or are they shaded out?
id recommend using training to control the height difference. That, or just raise the short one up on something. You want them both the right distance from the lights.

The branch should heal if you keep air off the wound. I recommend wrapping it with a thin strip of plastic wrap from the kitchen and getting grafting tape for future injuries.

Hope i addressed it all. Feel free to follow up!

      This just got interesting.🤔
I Will give them a CalMag shower as you suggest 9fingerleafs and than no more showers for a few days. Depending on how they respond I will continue with this, I'll also boost my waterculture with some extra CalMag.

Seems like this can be the issue for the stains aswell. Or maby it's a combination, to little cal-mag in the water and absolutely nothing in the spray.

Yes, one of the very few things I have ever foliar fed my plants is CalMag and they certainly seemed to Love it!

The broken limb should be fine, keep it taped up for 2 weeks and the check and see if the plant has healed the wound. If not just re tape and check again in 2 more weeks.

The hieight issue is really up to you. You can bend the taller stalks down gently and secure them with plant ties or something of that nature. You don't want to do much else once the plant is into flower. The main reason is you want a even canopy so you can maxamize your light source. If you have a big height difference then you have one plant getting optimal light and another too low getting less out of the light. Or you risk burning your taller plant if you bring it down to the lower light. I personally would try to bend down the taller plant and tie it down.

The other issues idk. Really hard to tell from pictures due to the led light can you get a picture in a more natural light source? With LEDs off

Update 1. Middle of week 5 flower.
    Stains on plant.

Here comes the pictures of my leaves without LED light.

I only detect stains on this 2 of my 22 plants.

Plant 1. This plant are having most stains, mainly on the lightexposed leaves.

Plant 2. Only showing stains on a few lower leaves. These leaves are getting very little light.

wait wait wait... ph 6.5?? thats way too high for hydro, that must be the main issue. different plants different symptoms
Give your cannabis plants just the right amount of breeze indoors, and learn how to easily make a cheap, stealthy exhaust system...

btw dont cut that branch off, it will be fine (:

After looking at that calculator and the suspicion of cal-mag issue I will try to keep my ph at 6.0-6.2 all the time .
        Great link, thx!

no 5.8 - 6 its perfect. my bad, i misunderstood the post, either way that might be the reason for the stains and spots, and if you fix it already you should see the plant not getting any worst and continue to grow

      Update 2.
Do I really have root issues ?

Hello again, here comes another update regarding my roots.
Some of the latest threads have about root health. Many says one of the sign of root rot is that the roots form like a ball.

well, that's exactly what my roots are doing. They either form a ball or a ring where the airstone is in the middle and the oxygen bubbles thru the hole in the ring.

All roots have the same color. They dont give away any weird smell and feel healthy and crispy when touching them.

Do I have a problem or am I overanalyzing?
