Sure it can be true, I know big pharma as an example isn't happy about the legalisation movement but will be ready to exploit it as soon as the federal state accepts the inevitability of full decriminalisation.

There's also political motivations behind the illegality of cannabis:
      • War on drugs won elections
      • War on drugs played a major role in repressing black and latino populations
      • War on drugs offered the perfect opportunity for search and seizure orders resulting in all assets deemed gained through criminal enterprise sold by local and federal forces via auction to fund the militarisation of the police and DEA forces
      • War on drugs has allowed the DEA to become a huge organisation with a great deal of political sway, keeping cannabis illegal justifies maintaining a larger presence
Politics is what defines the legal status of cannabis, politics is heavily driven by lobbying, lobbying is funded by private enterprise...yada yada yada, yeh I could easily believe the above graphic.

The new U.S. AG nominee might well move towards RE-criminalization.

Follow the money. If there was not so much money involved I don't think the cops would still be so obsessed with weed. Prop 205 here in AZ. was all about the money. It was written by greedy dispensary owners solely for their profit. I believe that is why it did not pass. All the card holders that I know voted against it. High prices would have been locked in for five years because it would have given a monopoly to existing dispensaries. "Some things will never change. That's just the way it is"

Sad but true 😕 We all need to show strength against the very powerful interests, and continue to pursue our roles in enlightening others on the benefits of cannabis. 🌸 Some day we hope reason will prevail!! 🙌🙌

Weed is illegal for two reasons. The first is racism. Americans were told building the border fence and outlawing weed would eliminate Mexican immigration. Second reason is basically what you already stated, weed smokers are harder to convince when it comes to the work eat sleep die philosophy. Alcohol on the other hand encourages this type two dimensional existence.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. We are better off with marijuana remaining a schedule I drug. As soon as it gets downgraded, the pharmaceutical companies will swoop in and it will become the new money maker. We, the people, don't stand a chance. At least if things remain the same, the states are gradually coming on board.

If the drug companys gets their greedy little hands into the marijuana pot, we will turn back time at least 10 years.
