Topping and transplanting at the same time

Is that too mush stress for the plant at such an early stage? If so, which should I do first and how long should I wait to do the other?

What are they in now I have my girls in gallon pots and I will top then in them but I wouldn't transplant and top at the same time , If plants are going to be in smaller pot for a couple more weeks then I would say go ahead and top thats if containers are bigger than solo cups

I haven't started my next(2nd) grow yet but I was just thinking about it and I didn't want to get ahead of myself like the first time. I stunted my plants and I'm just trying to think things through before giving my plants any stress. As always, your information has been gold for me. Thanks!

    I agree with OJH.
I will do one action, then wait for the plant to react/recover before continuing- It could be hours/days/weeks.

On 2/15 the plant responded well to transplanting with in a couple of hours- so was topped on the same day.
It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

If you transplant very carefully, it shouldn't stress the plant at all. Just be very careful and methodical.

          Agreed.
If you do it well, transplanting doesn't bother the plants at all (they like it) and there is no need to allow them to recover. I would transplant first, and if it goes smoothly I would top them the next day. I have done exactly that and had no problems.

I agree with Doc and the camper. If i'm going from Rapid rooter into a small pot I use the same medium I'll use in their final Smarty pot. Use the small pot to mold a hole in the larger pot for a perfect fit and Bam! a perfect fit. No stress transplant. Click image for larger version

That’s what I did FIM first I waited 12 hours and all was well so I transplanted only then.
