    Waxing and Tinctures

Reading the Pankace's previous thread on making Dab and Tika's thread on tinctures; Is there that much difference between the two?

Both require decarboxylation and extraction with alcohol , Dab boils the alcohol to concentrate and tincture ages in the freezer.

The only significant difference seems to be adding propylene glycol at the end of it for Dab, am I mis-understanding or is this the case?

Yes its a misunderstanding dabs is a common word to refer any kind of concentrate smoked in a hot nail. But the main use is for bho dabs. Which are made with butane and then degassified. Tinctures are made with high proof alcohol that is then evaporated to leave the resin (rick Simpson oil) to which you can add PG to dilute

      Bho doesn't need decarb

Sound like you got it all wrong...

My way did not mention any of that with butane...

Not a fan of tincture either...not enough head bang for me.

Decarbing is to prepare for edible consumption not smoked vaped or rolled. So anyone smoking any concentrate should not have decarbed it prior.

Will throw into the pot: tinctures generally are not reduced although can be. I prefer to use 190 proof alchohol and also use top grade bud and a good amount of it ground and decarbed. not to argue but to counter Green my friend, tinctures can be plenty potent even for most seasoned smokers. I like the idea of 3-6 drops and after 10 -15 minutes I am right where I want to be. I am not good with edibles but when I make butter..yes it is expensive as well.
Dab is different, never made it...I'm chicken when using other fire sources.

I agree. I made a tincture with Sour D one time and I was surprised at how strong it was. Needless to say, it didn't last long

I only used a heated glass 8×8 Pyrex dish that's sitting in a second larger dish with water which is at least 100 degrees, I run the butane through and it evaporates at zero degrees so it disappears almost instantly using the additional thermal hear from the water underneath the main 8x8 dish. I then vacuum purge it for 3 days and always have awesome shatter when I'm done.

Your welcome its so confusing. It all began with the "spots" technique to smoke little weed "spots" pressing it in between two live red hot knives. Weed gets carbonized in a second. Then people started smoking hash this way. Wasn't Until full melt hash came along needing a flat surface that we began using the nail

Yea to further confuse there is butter that you smoke and butter that you eat. Totally different shit

I read the tutorial on RSO in GWE it did not mention decarb first. Is this important and how is it done?

It is important because RSO is edible
