    Newbie Needing Help

I am a first timer and I have some questions. I have read the guides and I have tried to follow them but my plants have some problems. I have looked at the diagnosis section but I am afraid to trust my judgement since I have no experience. I am uploading some pictures and would appreciate it if you all could tell me what is wrong with my plant and give me any suggestions on what I should do next. I have learned so much from this site and I don't like to look elsewhere because everyone has different ways of doing things and it can get confusing. In picture #1 there are some little indented circles on the leaf. Not all of my leaves look like this but a few of them do. Pictures 2 and 3 are self explanatory and picture #4 is just a shot from the top of the plant. If anyone sees anything else that is wrong, please tell me. Click image for larger version

It looks like some sort of pest.

Pictures 1 and 3 kind of look like russet mite damage. And picture 2 looks like more spider mite type damage. Thats what I think anyway.

Do a real good check under your leaves. If you have a loupe use that to check.

Also looks like a bit of overwatering the leaves are pretty saggy.

If no bugs then maybe share what type of environment, lights, medium and nutrients you are using to help pinpoint the problem.

Is this plant in dwc? If so can you post a picture of the roots?

I actually think that is causing more of the leaf swelling than my original thought of russetts in pics 1 and 3.

Thanks everyone for the input. I also thought it might be calcium deficiencies and I wasn't sure about the overwatering. I had been watering them every day. I ordered some Calimagic and it came in today. Does anyone have any recommendation as to how much I should use? It is in dwc.

            I agree with this. lol

I would start looking for mites or mahor pH fluctuations. Dont know what else would make the leaves swell.

The lighting is wrong not enough intensity. that's y the leaf stems r so long. They feel shaded and r reaching. yeah too much water/ not enough air to roots. The dents n shit on the leaves looks like maybe some nute water splashed on them. Check ur PH runoff tho that will open a whole new world as far as what the roots r doing and ur medium / res

What he said! I've never seen leaves stretched out like that.

Just like Speedygreen says, your lights are not close enough to your plants, or either its not strong enough.

Hey Shirley, welcome to the forum, too!! As everyone above has indicated, it looks like you have various issues with your plant--not just one. I grow DWC as well, and would also like to know what the roots look like; can you post a pic of the roots? If your roots are brown and gooey, then you probably have a case of root rot, which could be causing the leaves to show deficiencies, because they are unable to uptake nutrients.

This tutorial is A LOT of information, but it covers what you need to know to grow hydroponically:

Why does it look like the light is originating from underneath the plant?

Looks to me that the light is above but there is mylar or foil on top of the tub/pot reflecting up.
