    Making a hydro cloner

hey guys I’ve been looking at the ez clone and other similar cloning systems. The prices are outrageous imo. I decided to make my own and I think it could work quite well..... I hope. Anyway I spent about an hour and a half and under $60 CAD. All the supplies in the pic will also build a top feed dwc later.
    Setup
    4’x4’x6.6’
    600W MH
2x innova 19w full spec led
    175cfm fan, can 33 filter
    8gal DIY reservoir/ hydro system

I also installed a t fitting opposite of the inlet for expansion. I think once roots begin to hang down flow to the middle pot may be reduced, if so I will add another nozzle toward the middle for $1.50

What are the specs on the pump? I've been wanting to do something similar but can't decide on a pump.

132gph 28w you can use a much smaller pump I think I kinda went overkill

Agreed-It takes very little volume to get a good fog going.

          Good deal BlueBudz
Love me some Diy builds, nothing better than your own. I did me one for under 30 bucks for 6 clones.

            Thanks Mr.F
I could have saved a few dollars on a smaller pump and not food grade pail. But after looking at the prices of the ez clone I was just so far ahead I thought make it a bit better!

Oh yeah, looking nice all loaded up. Ain't nothin that makes me happier, than saving a buck or two an build something that you want, homemade is usually better anyway.
Good Luck with your project, and I hope you have many productive and Happy Grows.

Thanks brother. As long as it works well I’ll be happy with the time and money it took! I did have a leak where the power cord goes into the bucket, but used a piece of neoprene insert and voila.

Very nice! How big do you like to cut your clones?

Haven’t really taken too many yet. Maybe around 6” and as many nodes as possible

A tupperware cake carrier lid might fit. Or a deli platter cover, like for a shrimp cocktail ring, might also fit. You might find one of those glass donut tray covers at a thrift store.

Thanks ABT unfortunately some things are just impossible to find in Canada.... not sure why but it really gets in the way of getting stuff at a reasonable price

Absolutely should. They are standing up like that cuz they soooooo happy. Just don't let them stretch up too much too fast.

I've had some plants do that. In my case the light was too bright. My guess is they were trying to limit the surface area exposed to the light. Not saying that's the case with yours, but it's something to watch. Mine were also full plants, not clones.

Ok Walt I’ll keep an eye on that. To me they look happy as can be. They are in a 4x4 tent with 240w LED, not in the “direct” light. I am going to keep a lil journal in this thread kind of so you can all see if it works ok or not

Small update, I cut the mesh out of the mesh pots, Now they just act as a collar. I got thinking about it and after the roots get through the pots I won’t be able to remove them.
