I was wondering what the capabilities of a plant are to recuperate from a mishap. I've recently started LST and mind you this is my first time and I have two plants. Yesterday I discovered that one of them had snapped near the base due to my overly aggressive LST techniques. About half the plant was snapped leaving the other half intact and I taped it as a temporary fix to keep it together. Should the plant heal itself?

The plant will heal itself, there are some kind of creams that one can rub in. But I've had a plant split right down the middle, taped it together and tied it with string and the plant never slowed down growing.3 X 3 gorilla. Promix soil . Green Planet Nutes

Yes the plant will heal itself and make sure you take off the take after it does. Here is some lst that got too rough.1 Photohttps://forum.growweedeasy.com/forum...-she-s-a-beast

Yup it will bounce back. I split my main stem in 2 vertically on one of my biggest plants on my current grow. It is already the largest producer of all 3. Just put in some TLC and keeps germs out of the wound.
After doing much research I have come to find the best thing to add to the wound before bandaging closed is Cloning Gel.It will greatly help the plant recover. For future reference.

I did the very same thing AGAIN today on a bushy indica...
I wired her to her opposing branch opposite side and then Gorilla taped the junction ( immediately). I really hate the sound and I know I am being gentle.

Split the main steam down the middle due to over LST
put cloning gel on the wound and taped it up.
even got me some popcorn buds from under the tape.
keep it supported and it'll be fine.

Plant ties, wire, clothes pens, washers, nuts, bolts, screws, safety pens, string, rope, tomato cages, bamboo sticks, fishing weights, drum set hardware, fan leafs, the plant itself, and any random things that look right for the job. The trick for what you use is slow and steady, adding force or too much weight too fast causes brakes but it happens to all of us that train plants.
