    Noob questions

Recently did some successful cloning and was wondering if I could take the cuttings from a soil from plant and turn it into hydro? Or take a transplant from soil to hydro? Would the soil to hydro be too much shock for the plant and roots? Can I clone the clones into hydro? Just thinking of taking things to different levels curious to know if anyone has gone successfully from soil to hydro with a transplant.

You can do clones in a hydro for sure. If the mother is in dirt and you want to go to hydro no biggie. And yes you can also start clones in hydro until they have established roots and go to soil no issues.

Cool! Is there a chance you can transplant an established root system from a young clone growing in soil and transplant to hydro?

I'd think that as long as you can get the root ball out of soil without trashing it you should be fine.
        WHAT???
        5x5 grow space
        900w of Vero's and F-strips
        4-17gal totes self-made UC system.

I dunno about putting soil in a net or pot If it fits maybe. But someone with more hydro knowledge should be able to help with that.

Thanks for the input UrbZ. An I was just wondering about the shock of transplanting and the removal of soil would be too much stress gbauto? Wanted to know if it has been done successfully. Kinda of like the idea of the water veg time going from soil to hydro

Yes, you can go from soil to hydro, it's possible. How well your plant does and how long she takes to recover is a matter of much you avoid damaging the little tiny root hairs in the process.

If you get your bucket assembled and filled with nutrients, and your basket and clay balls, etc.

Gently take your root ball and poke it in a bucket of water and gently work the dirt out of the roots. The roots can actually take a bit of abuse, but the gentler you are, the faster she will recover. When you get it clean, submerge the roots in a clean bucket of water and work the roots into your grow cup. I like using chopsticks instead of fingers. If the roots are crazy long and you can't get them in, just snip them off shorter.

Once its evenly spaced, with the cup and roots still submerged, start filling the cup with hydroton pellets. They float. As you add some to the top, poke them down into the roots and start raising the cup out of the water. Repeat until full with pellets worked down into the roots.

Set it in your grow lid and start your bubbles. Use light nutrients until she tells you she wants more.

                Good luck, and post pics!
