    T5 Light Question

Just getting started with indoor growing. I have a 2.5' x 2.5' x 60" grow cabinet, I was planning on using a T5 -24" 4 tube fixture. I can only find 24 or less watt fixtures and tubes. Will this work or should I go with a bunch of CFL's?

So 24watt bulbs will work fine?Wasn't sure if it would be enough light.

I recommend you go with the CFL plan. The reason being that T5 is only good for a few inches of penetration, where with CFL's you can get them down to where you want the buds to grow. Also it is easy to add more CFL's bulbs in flower.

what I have learned so far:
        environment maters more than nutrients
at least a dab of nutrients in every watering
effective flushing before harvest is critical to quality

I'd go with 23watt cfls, a bunch of them, half and half kelvin.

Thank you Flockshot, Think that is what I;m going use, it's a small grow area and I will only have a plant or two to start off.

Research chip on board Leds. Rapidled has a single cob fixture, 75 watts at the wall, 2.5 by 2.5 coverage, and has penetration. I got 3 in a 2x4x5 blowing it up.

You might consider dumping that cabinet which limits your choice of lighting. Bezos has a great selection of T5 fixtures, and the prices are economically viable. Why limit yourself to one or two plants. 6 or 8 are doable with these 48" T5 fixtures. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...+Light+Fixture Of course I only use the T5s for vegging.

Check out these 7 beauties vegged with only one T5 fixture, and no tent or cabinet. There were 8, but I gave one to my son.

They look nice and healthy. What do you use for flowering?
