Heres a weird question! Lol! Any scientists? :)

If it is possible, how well do you think a mirror for a floor would work? (Keeping in crystal clean!)

Do you think it would benifit from all the "lost light" going to the soil anf bounced back to the leaves?

Do you think it would fail horribly?

    Remember:
    Angle in = Angle out.

    Just some thoughts!

I watched a video on youtube from grow boss garden rescue and there was a grow with a light on the floor pointing up and he explained that was doing nothing for the grow since the light is absorbed from the top of the leaf surface. So, it seems to me that a mirror would not be of any benefit My grow tent floor is reflective material like the rest of the tent, but I don't believe the lower reflection is doing anything to help the grow. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I know at this point.

What do you cover the walls of your grow room with to reflect the most light at your plants?
It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

I've read that normal silver-backed, glass mirrors have a typical reflectivity of about 85 to 90% whereas flat/ matte white surfaces have a reflectivity between 80 and 90%.

However, with mirrors you have the possibility of magnifying / focusing the light and making "hot spots" that could burn your plants in places. Plus glass absorbs a lot of UV and IR light. You don't have such issues with a flat white surface since it tends to diffuse the light as it's reflected back.

I'm not sure I agree with the above. I would think that as long as light is reaching and penetrating the leaves, photosynthesis is going to occur; it's just going to be much better from the top obviously. Granted, I am no scientist either. In my soil grows, I've always placed a circular piece of white poster board in the pots on top of the soil (with a hole cut out in the center for the stems) to reflect as much light as possible back up into the plant. I thought it worked well to shed some light on the buds in the interior. Whether it did anything to improve anything is beyond me. But it made me feel better.

I've read in many scientific journals that if you break it, you get 7 years' bad luck.

Wouldn’t use on floor, but on sides it would work well.
