yesterday I needed to water a couple of autos well I took the water I left to sit and started to warm it up while i did that I checked the PH the meter went right to 4.8 thats not right I said and added some baking powder to raise it up, Its plain water comes out of the tap at 7.3 I did add some silica to it the night before , It would not go above 4.8 so I check the meter in 7.0 solution the meter went right to 7.0 ,
I added more baking powder like 3 or 4 tbls still would not go above 4.8 I had added silica to the standing water the day before I figured that was it nope
I got 5 gallons of fresh water ,the meter started at 5.8 I added powder and the ph dropped to 4.8 WTF
so I went and found my test strips and checked with them the ph was 8. something yikes
I got 5 more gallons and checked it with both the ph meter and strips the meter 5.8 the strip 7. HMMM
so its the meter I checked it 4 or 5 times in a 7.0 solution and it hit 6.9, 7.0, 7.1, all within range then I would put it back in water and back to 5.8
I don,t think the lower end can be calibrated ,but I dont get it if its in water 5.8 in solution 7.0. I have my 7.0 solution in a small clean jar that I can stick the meter in so I dont think it could go bad but I will check it with a strip to see before I bring meter back
I use storage solution to store it in, it hasn't dried out, Ideas anyone
