    Light from space heater

Hi I was wondering if the light from a space heater can affect the flowering stage? I don’t mean an indicator light that can be easily covered by tape. What I mean is the orange glow from the heating element. I’ve seen many conflicting statements elsewhere and I wanted to see if anyone has had an issue from the heater glow before. I appreciate any help and apologize if this has already been answered.

    light is light
    completed 7 grows
what I have learned so far:
    environment maters more than nutrients
at least a dab of nutrients in every watering
effective flushing before harvest is critical to quality

I would do what I could to minimize the light the best you can, however being mindful to not cause any fire hazards. My first thought would be to see if I could put the little space heater in box of sorts with front and back walls cut out, for air intake and heat exhaust and make sure they are not pointed towards the girls as you will still have light leaks just not on the ladies. Again be very careful for fire hazards. Maybe see if you can run the space heater outside the tent and use aluminum dryer exhaust flex duct to pipe in the heat?

Just my thoughts, however I am a bit handy and confident in that kind of stuff, if you are uneasy about anything, DONT do it..

Fire one up and think outside the box..

Is it possible to put it outside the area? Ie: outside a grow tent if you have one? Ambient air works wonders for pulling it in!

You can get oil filled radiator looking heaters that have a themastat pretty cheap. They don't put out light, except indicator, and are pretty efficient, as far as space heaters go. Nice, even heat too.

two weeks before I had my seeds I learned to control the temps of 1) my grow light and fan and the proper balance of the two (speed control for fan) and then 2) the oil radiator setting to maintain the right temp when the lights are off, I also found the right heater setting for when I need to run the exhaust 24/7. The oil heater was key to being able to maintain 75 degrees for veg at lights out and still has enough juice to heat in a much colder situation without risk. The thermostat on board lets you dial in exactly what you need. there is a small one on amazon that I would buy if mine broke, although I've had the old version of this for nearly 20 years Two timers, one for lights and exhaust and one for heater

He is worried about the heating element, it glows orange.

I got a heater in room, I'm more worried bout fire, than light from heater elements. Make sure any and all power lights are coverd.

How bigs your grow space? If it’s small enough u could use a seed starter pad or two the type u place under seedlings to get them started a nice even heat and no light ! My 2$

Thank you all for the advice. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had an electric radiator in the garage. Taped over the indicator lights and it was good to go.

Awesome, it is amazing the stuff we can find around the house that will work for our issues instead of having to haul a$$ to the store to buy something..
