My grandmother was Bavarian immigrating straight from Germany to the US. She spoke stilted English not having any bilingual language courses in Deutschland at that time. I have always been fascinated by Deutsch as it is a guttural language somewhat resembling the fictional Vulcan. German films are actually better with English subtitles such as the best foreign film of 1979 Schlondorff's The Tin Drum. It was based on Gunter Grass's Danzig Trilogy which I have enjoyed, for many years. Grass like the majority of Norwegians, of course excluding Anders Brevik, was a Socialist, and is humanity's best chance for survival. Norway one of the most civilized countries on Earth has a lot to teach the U.S.

I have seen the Aurora Borealis in the states. Actually in the state of Iowa, amazingly that far south. Tromso would be a fantastic vacation spot though in Aurora season.

Another place I lived was in the Adirondack wilderness in New York State. over half a million acres of preserve with no lights , wires. any man made structures, they even removed the lean-to's. Incredible light shows in a star lit sky so clear and deep and black

Drove through the Adirondacks on our way to Quebec City. I love a wilderness, and they are getting fewer and far between. Would have liked to do some camping there, but had to get to Quebec City for the Stones concert. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPf97nBPrgg

There was another Norwegian frequenting the site, but he seems to have vanished. I am referring to Blackmidget. I have made a number of attempts inviting him (or her*) back, but to no avail. Maybe we are too amateurish here at GWE, Or i toopid.

      New update again folks.

I gave the lady a healthy portion of nutrient-mixed water today. 3 liters (12 cups) mixed with 4ml/L BioBloom, 1ml/L BioGrow and 2ml/L TopMax.
She has been stretching like crazy the last couple of days, and her biggest growth has been in the middle of the day, when the house has been empty.
So I kind of gave up on the ScrOG-screen this run. She just grew to fast for me to keep up. So I'll just be letting her grow from now on.
I still remove leaves from time to time. She easily gets way too bushy, way too fast if I don't. But now she has started to produce flowers, and I might want to hold back on the defoliation, or what?
I don't want to damage the yield by stressing her with my cutting. What do you guys think? I want to keep removing leaves, because I don't want mold and nasty stuff like that. But at the same time, I don't want her to "suffer".

Here you can see how she has been stretching. I don't mind that at all, but I'll keep watching her because I don't want her to outgrow the tent. It's not that big.

Here's some pictures of the pre-flowers. They look nice, and I'm really looking forward to watching them fatten up the next couple of weeks.

The last thing I'm kind of "anal" about is the airflow underneath the plant. I've kept that space open and clean all the way. And I think it makes a difference. I don't know.

Still trying to keep the potential popcorn buds to a minimum. But I've still left a few. I like to sample my product right before harvest, just to give myself a idea of how it tastes and feels. That way I know if I need to let it ripen for a few more days, or if I should chop it right away. Anyone else doing this? I kind of feel like a little kid waiting impatient for his presents or something. Can't stop myself from having a little taste/peak. Hehe!

Let me know what you guys think. I'm really excited about this. She looks awesome. And smells awesome. So I can only hope that she will taste and feel just as awesome.

      Peace!

Yes, they're gorgeous Cocho. And Paracelsus is right about those other things too. Informally, I've got a Galaxy Hydro LED (blurple) next to a Roleadro COB (white looking full spectrum). The plant that is almost done-done is a little frostier on the side that is closer to the blurple light.

I've really dug some of the stuff you've shared about the biodynamic growing, but I will probably get that serious about soil when we get back from our trip to the real Aurora Borealis, since I want all the good juju of living soil, but I don't have the energy yet to mix and compost my own super soil.

But according ot biodynamic growing principles, I wonder what affects the Aurora and sunspots would have on pot grows? I mean I know there isn't any pot growing outside during the time of year to worry about the actual night-time light interrupting their flower cycle. But, still, solar flares happen in the summer, and they say pregnant women shouldn't fly during peak sunspot activity (whatever that may be).

I've been trying to find a way to incorporate Bio-Dynamics but indoors isnt bio-dynamic especially hydro, I do want to do living soil indoors eventualy. BD may be the highest spiritual engagement with the cycle of life but having animals is a part of the philosophy too, without sunlight and earth it can't be bio-dynamic.

Yes solar flares occur in the summer. In fact the Aurora Borealis that I observed in Iowa back in the 80s did occur in the summer. I was driving home from the television station after work, and saw the lights streaking across the sky from the north. I had to pull over, and stop. I then headed out into the countryside for a better view. Timing is advised for your best shot at viewing. https://www.nordicvisitor.com/blog/a...ok-for-winter/

As an experienced grower you are hitting all of the finer points. I am amazed at how much attention you are rendering to one plant? Are you short of grow space? Will you be dosing the plant with blackstrap molasses in the weeks to come, or are you going to stay on the Mr. Natural road? I always dose with blackstrap molasses in the last few weeks with excellent results.http://www.growweedeasy.com/how-to-g...-smelling-buds

Yes, we recently had a majority seats in the government vote yes for decriminalizing drugs. It's mostly aimed at the "plague" of heroin addicts we have here, and the fact that punishment in the form of fines and prison does not help a "20 years on the road" junkie when he or her finally re-joins the society. But it also affects Cannabis and other drugs too. So yeah. After years and years Norway has finally taken the first step towards a drug policy fitting for the 21 century.

And I really appreciate the kind words! The funny thing is, that I'm actually a restless person. But Cannabis makes me slow down and think things over. Stop over analyzing everything all the time. So maybe the plant shares some of its good vibes with me, and I thereafter brings them with me to others.

Hopefully you guys are right. And that this harvest will be great. I sure hope so!

      Small but important update today!

She is drying up faster now, so I watered her again today (3 days since last watering/feeding).

I added the usual stuff, but today I also added Molasses to the mix. I'm looking forward to see how she likes it, or if I even can tell a difference in the growth.
So today I gave her 3 liters (12 cups) of water, mixed with 1/2 tablespoon of Molasses, 4ml/L BioBloom, 1ml/L BioGrow and 2ml/L TopMax.

Here's the type of Molasses I'm using. Bought of a health/vegan store. Smells awful, but I bet the plant will love it!

She is looking good. Growing steady and slowly forming buds. I wont be Super cropping or anything like that. I want to get this grow done and cured, then go over my journal and perfect it for the next round. Then I will be stepping it up a notch, and maybe add another light. Who knows. So for now I'll just be taking care of her and letting her grow.

I'll add pictures of her later today or tomorrow. She is getting her self together after the feeding, so she'll be 100% again tonight.

See you guys later! Keep the feedback coming!

      Peace!

The nutrition information lists Chromium, Calcium, Copper and Iron, but no Sulfur. At least not on the label. And I can't see anything about it anywhere, so I guess it can be classified as "unsulfured".

I read more-blackstrap is from the last refinement from using mature, cooked cane that should have been pretty sterilized by the previous preocessing steps, and therefore does not need the preservatives that lighter colored grades of molasses contain. That's the sulfur.

Ah, ok. I've not yet taking the time to inform myself around this subject. I only bought the Molasses after numerous people told me it was like nectar from the gods for a Cannabis plant. But it sure looks like death and smells kind of like farts. So I guess there's Sulfur in it, since Sulfur normally smells of "rotten eggs" etc. And when I popped the lid, there was this "hissing" sound and something that looked like smoke came out of the jar. It reminded me of when I was a little kid and every year we would have new lambs. And as the lambs grew bigger we gave them Molasses through the feed. The smell of the Molasses brought me back to the hot summers as a kid, at the family farm. Stuff I forgot a long time ago

Here's a quick update (with pictures) since I did not post any yesterday!

She is stretching like crazy these days. But I'm not worried yet, but she needs to slow down soon, or I'll run out of space. Hehe!

Some of the flowers have produced something that looks like tricoms on the leaves closest to the flower. Kind of hard to see in this light, but I just thought it was interesting to see.

And here you can see how she's reaching for the light. I've been raising the light higher and higher (1 inch a day) for the last 2 days. But it's still not a problem. She'll most likely end her growth stretch soon anyways. She's, right now, 64 days old and 21 days in to flower.

That was all for this time! Take care.

      Peace.

Good morning Cocho, From what I have read the black strap molasses should not contain sulphur. This product https://www.amazon.com/Golden-Barrel...a485d9912ea9c8 does not contain the sulphur. It is pricey so I use Grandma's molasses which many other growers use. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Grandma-s...3=1384&veh=sem GWE recommends 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water, but some growers are using as much as 1 to 2 tablespoons. I have been adding 1 table spoon without any significant deleterious effect. Here is what GWE has to say specifically: Sugar Based Supplements

Many sugar or carbohydrate-based supplements claim to improve the smell/taste/sweetness of buds. A cheap alternative to expensive sugar-based bloom boosting supplements is blackstrap molasses. Giving this to your plants for the last few weeks before harvest can help them get bigger and smell/taste better.

It's not specially made for plants; it's the regular stuff you'll find in your kitchen or at the grocery store). Blackstrap molasses adds sugars, amino acids and trace minerals. Unfortunately for hydro growers, anything organic like molasses is not suitable for a hydroponic reservoir! But molasses works great for soil and coco growers

For the last 2-3 weeks before harvest, give 1/2 tsp of Blackstrap Molasses per gallon when watering (for soil or coco coir)

Yeah! That's the article I've been reading too. That and the many many recommendations from you guys made me want to test out the Molasses.
And like I said before; since the Biobizz nutrient line is Molasses-based, I felt it was only natural to try it out this time.

And yes, that is what I'm thinking as well. Selectively pick the leaves I want to remove and carefully remove them.
At the moment I'm keeping my eyes peeled for leaves that are growing to close (cluster like), because I want to remove those to prevent mold and nasty stuff like that.

Agreed that plant could win a beauty contest....maybe a future Miss Norway.

There is some debate on just how the molasses is beneficial to the plant. Here is a discussion on that subject. https://www.420magazine.com/forums/b...flowering.html

          Hey guys!

Today I did some defoliation and removed some of the leaves that were covering bud sites, and some of the leaves that were growing in clusters to improve air flow.
As I was doing this I noticed something I don't like too much.

Some of the leaves had brown/orange spots on them. I checked for bugs, but found non. And there were not a lot of spots, just a few here and there (not in a pattern).

Here's a few pictures. What do you think it could be? Some kind of deficiency/over feeding on a specific substance?

And here on a smaller leaf (kind of hard to see, but there's two small spots towards the tip of the leaf).

Hopefully this is just a minor "hick-up" and nothing to worry about. But I've seen enough grow logs go to shits because the lack of taking stuff like this serious.

Not the best start of the day, but I'm a Viking. I will endure.

          Peace!

I was also thinking Cal Mag deficiency. But my tap water is hard (pH 8,5) and contains a good amount of minerals, so it should be fine. But then again, it's still possible. Also.. my run off have been measured to the lower parts of the pH scale (pH 5,5 - 6), but it has been like that since the beginning. And I've done a flush in the past, which worked, but the pH was back to "normal" (5,5 - 6) in just a week or so. So it really did not have any effect at all. I don't own pH-UP or pH-DOWN (since I'm growing organic). I do have some Dolomite, but that stuff is only good for mixing into the soil, am I right?

Then again.. there was only a few leaves affected by this. I can't see any more spots, so it's not aggressive.

Maybe I should flush this lady a little next time I water? Just take her in the shower and give her a good soaking?
My water alone works as a pH-UP, so it could be good for her if it's Cal Mag deficiency because of low pH levels?

Cocho, like several other Growers have said I wouldn't worry to much, and calmag. I would look at getting your runoff PH to a constant 6.3. It is the sweet spot for calmag consumption and will benefit you there. The Aurora in my last grow was quick to show problems were the other strains did not till a little later. Good luck your plant they are moving right along.

Ok. So I should take is easy and just regulate the pH? I've also noticed some burnt tips. So it might just be too much nutrients. I gave her more than normal last time (4ml/L). So it might be a good idea to clean the soil a bit, then give her a weaker mix and see how she reacts?

But how do you suggest I deal with the pH value? I don't have any additives, and stuff like that are not sold in stores here. I would have to order some online, and wait for it to get her. Might take a week, or more. Like I mentioned before; my tap water is kind of "hard", so I've been using it as a "pH-UP" until now. So maybe a round or two with pure water, just to get rid of some of that salt, and "boost" the pH-value at the same time?
