Don't buy - buy the molasses that is sulfur free, usually the organic kind.

Well if it says it's unsulfered, then it's ok.

No it doesn't, as long as it's unsulfered, folks living out in the country around me make their own molasses, for their families to enjoy on their biscuits.
They still use mules tied to a pole ,going around in small circles grinding, up the sugar cane. They sell it in metal buckets for about 8-10 dollars a gallon. It doesn't smell very good ,but it's sure good on homemade biscuits.
You can buy it grocery stores a little cheaper.

It's homemade is one reason it costs a little more.
Ground up ,wet sugar cane just doesn't have a pleasant smell.
The Delta area where I live is covered up with humongous sugar cane fields ,and all the young kids will cut down a stalk and chew it just like they were chewing Juicy Fruit gum.Every body grew up chewing sugar
cane, not very many stores in the Delta area to buy chewing gum.

I'd be careful using to much sugar for very long, I heard it turns to vinegar after a while ,so you might want to read up on it .

Plants produce their own sugar thru photosynthesis, and to much will actually kill your plants, we learned that in elementary school , we had little projects growing plants in class y'all probably did to didn't you. A little sugar helped, to much killed them, I can remember that. Just be careful with how much you use, and for how long you use it.
