Hi ellz,

You might try spraying with diluted H2O2.
You could also spray with plain water, like use your hose nozzle on a fine, high-pressure spray to remove as much as possible.
Go through with q tips dipped in alcohol to remove as much web as possible (avoiding alcohol on buds),

Morning Ellz , Like Alltatup said, Mighty Wash a couple of friends say it works, and I also heard Green Clean works ok. As for as smoking your bud goes, I always used to grow outdoors and I am sure over the many years of smoking my own bud that I'm sure I've unknowingly smoked spider mites many times without noticing any bad effects other than a craving to crawl on all fours an build webs , jus kiddn, but honestly never noticed anything. when I see mite I spray with neem oil top and bottom of leaves I will sometime add green cure , both are safe to use close to harvest , as for smoking them Iv'e always smoked the bud from a plant that had mites ,the popping sound is kinda cool, just kidding I think when you cut the plant most if not all leave, dead plants are not food, that might be a false statement but my observation, YOU have not lost your in-tire grow relax mites are just part of the experience lol

Hi Ellz, thank you for asking this question. I to have an infestation of spider mites and they showed up right when I was moving into the flushing stage. I was so shocked that I missed a complete week on my schedule by trying to get rid of them. I'm using a soap & water mixture (Ivory soap) and it seems to have slowed them down. The Neem Oil I hear is excellent but I can't get any. Good Luck on your harvest.

If u soak buds in water like a outside grow to get off polen and dirt,thay should abandon ship good luck

Wow...thanks all for the inspiring words! So it sounds like I can hose the plants off with water after harvesting to clear off any excess mites which is a good thing and also I can still smoke the buds even with this problem. It's been problem after problem on this grow but I am sticking it out to the end!

Side note: I ordered a small bottle of Azamax after reading about it on the page with spider mites. Sounds like it is pretty safe to use. It should be here Monday, which would be 3 days or so after the Neem Oil.

Sorry for upsetting you to a point of messaging me alltatup. No worries on the unsub of my grow journal. You aren't the only one. But don't worry....this will be my last time posting a journal online! I see now I should remain very private since I am apparently too angry for the world and no one out there wants to do shit but complain about it!

I ran out and bought a magnifying glass and checked my entire plant.
thanks for posting on the subject, because I probably would throw away the plant and start over..good to know there are remedies for that type of situation

I sprayed k neem oil every three weeks, really watered down, and added a bit directly to the soil from time to time to keep on the offense, rather then from a defensive position

What are the rules on renaming a strain? The strain is "White-Poison" but I was thinking of renaming it to "Snap-Crackle-Pot" after all of this!

I know I've read this and that here and there about how it's unsafe blah blah. If it's unsafe I should have been dead loooong time ago. Last time I had them I had 2 dozen plants in 2 tents all flowering. I rinsed them a couple times a week alternating between Dawn/water, plain water, and mighty bomb, kept them knocked down til harvest. I don't even sweat the bastards anymore, they're a nuisance but they're not the boogeyman I first thought they were when I started growing.

Just curious...do these little critters only infest the leaves or do they get all in the buds too? It's gotta be pretty enticing if they don't like wind to get as "embedded" in the plants as they can but for the most part, I was only seeing them on the actual leaves. It would make sense they would attack both but I was just curious if any of you knew for sure.

ellz - Where do you think you got the mites from?

Tracked in from outside?
--Vegetable garden
--Animals/pets
--From a plant besides marijuana

From another marijuana garden?
--Clones were infested with spider mites
--Tracked spider mites in from another marijuana garden
--Any time the spider mites were living on another marijuana plant before they got to your plants

Just wanted to update this post and provide some photos of what I am dealing with in hopes that it will help other identify the warning signs of spider mites. There is an excellent tutorial available here all about spider mites and how to treat an infestation, along with some great photos of what to look for but I figured it never hurts to have a couple of additional photos. These were taken without any zoom, just how the plants look if you examine them up close.
