    Strange twist in my leaves

Strain is Blueberry, started from seed, in about third week of veg I think, maybe more. No nutes, under a T5 lamp, and not over watered, also the plants are producing there fourth set of leaves, is this the time to top? gonna try super cropping these plants

I think I see what you mean about the twist, but the plants look healthy, so I wouldn't worry. The rule of thumb is 6 sets of leaves, top back to the third, but I don't think this a hard and fast rule. You seem to only have fans that only have 3 leaves, but again, I think that is normal in a young plant.

Thanks a lot, at first I thought it was a heat issue, but there plenty cool under that light. So I top off when its 6 leaves? and cut to the 3rd?

Do you think your light setup is pulling the plant in a certain direction, since they grow towards the light?

yes I think so, they have been leaning so I have been turning the pots, now I raised the light to get more coverage

Looks like they're just growing it's fast now. They love the t5 light mine are 6 inches from the light.

Yea I've noticed in veg they really like the T5, quick growth for me at least

T5's are the perfect light for veg because you can have them really close to plant. Keep rotating too, if you have a side light. All and all, they look very healthy. Yes let them develop one or two more sets of leaves before you top them.

how much did u raise your light? I use t5's on seedlings but only until they are a couple inches tall. I am just asking because I am curious how far a t5 can penetrate effectively

I usually do the top of your hand heat test, if its too hot for my hand I inch it up

      #8
I usually keep mine about 9 or 10 inches away. I don't wanna get it to close to the young-uns. I have just never tested how far they could be away and still do a good job. I would be curious to know. I have heard of people using t5s for the whole cycle. I don't know how tall people let them get when they are gonna flower with t5s. So curious lol

Ya I cant imagine flowering under these lights with the penetration

Yes, about 5 to 6 inches above plant is good. Once our plants got taller, before we put them in tent with the LEDS, we also used a couple of cfls that have that reflective cone and clamp attachment to help get light underneath the main growth. A couple of those placed strategically worked great. Something like this. That's not exactly what they looked like, but close.

I'm gonna put cfl's around those plants try to help it out

They may not be necessary, but we had about 4 of them around the house so we just went ahead and used them. Just put in a different full spectrum bulb.

Usually you only super crop a plant when you are running out of height..like a last resort...works well.

Try another method of training first to try and keep them low and even and then if need to super crop later during flower stretch you can. It's easy.

Good looking babies...keep the pics coming!!
        Good luck

for sure and thanks, I thought super cropping was just a different way of training, I use LST now with twist ties, but with super cropping as I understand it would get me more colas on that branch? or did I misunderstand the method?

Instead of having one big one at top ...each individual bud site will stand up and you will get nuggets

I didn't use the terminology nuggets until I cured my first crop! Now I have nuggets!

It won't make more sites but it will increase the amount you get from each site

            #15
The flower spots were already there....if I did not bend it over it would of been one HUGE cola....
