    Day 28

Lower fan leafs continuing to yellow. Upper leaves getting lighter. I'm determined not to supplement to see this through. Water only was the plan from the beginning. The buds are developing fine, a bit small but I'm fine with it. The sugar leaves all look green so I'm optimistic.

Im considering adding pk to my water or top dressing some bat guano next time starting week 2 from flip to get some bulk. Maybe a carbohydrate if the buds aren't "sweet" enough. Suggestions welcome. I'd be sticking with organic.

Magnificent grow, I'm a living soil guy, but I'm really liking the Kind Soil method. Certainly easier, with really good results. But your plant skills are such a big part, You would have a great crop with any method.

        You're excused... pothead

The setup is designed for water only and I wanna see if that's true.

I fell in love with the simplicity as soon as I read up on kindsoil. While it is expensive, It is much cheaper than running nutrients, but at the sake of performance? I don't know yet. I'll have to run it a few times before I can form a complete opinion. I have the squat root trappers for my next grow. I think they'll work better given the training we all do. Short and fat is where it's at?

my first grow was with kind soil and happy frog. ended up with 5 oz between 2 plants just simple watering, although my mistake was watering till run off and as you know you shouldn't do that with this setup, my coco loco came and I'm about to pot 3 white widows, do the same as last time, but ph my water and no over watering, I was happy. also curious as to this time around I have two lights compared to one last time. I'm trying to get my plants looking like yours, uniformed and neat looking, big props to you

Have you considered top dressing with more Kind Soil?

That's a very interesting idea. I don't know if the roots need to be in contact with the soil though. It may just be an expensive top dressing.

Now the gears are turning and it's almost bedtime.... great...

maybe not at root level, but when watered, maybe the water carries the goodies down with it, almost like top feed?

That's the thought process Nebula has me pondering. I'm 4 weeks in and I can't decide if I should try it. She gets watered tomorrow so I will decide by tomorrow. If I do, I'll go light. I'm not sure how to proceed though. I've considered adding a half a cup of kind soil and mix it into the first inch of my media per plant. Any thoughts on this?

Take some left over soil and run water through it and use that to water...maybe let water sit in it for a bit...then drain and feed to them....just a thought

Nugs, why is the kind soil only used on bottom them topped with coco loco? Or, why not mix the two together and use for entire pot? Please explain the principles behind the way kind soil works. thank you.

The idea is the roots will grow in the mildly amended coco loco until they reach the bottom of the pot. They then have the super rich kindsoil at their fingertips and can feed on it as they choose. This is all predicated on a healthy microbial population which the organic compounds provide.

Thanks, I will check it out. We have limited soil choices even though we have an adequate number of garden supply centers. Since PA in not legal (Well medical, but still a way off), no garden centers cater to the needs of growing cannabis. I know all these products are available on line.
