    Humidity question

Planning to add a carbon filter. Exhaust currently vents out into the room containing my tent. Is there a problem with doing this? Does it affect the humidity levels (carbon filter capturing moisture from air).
    Thanks, appreciate advice!

Just my opinion I would try to vent the air outside because it would be depleted from CO2 or at least most of it used up. And if you'll do some checking I believe high humidity levels will I don't know if it messes up the charcoal filter or just stops its ability to work. I'm in the south battling extremely high humidity every night if I didn't have to run my dehumidifier my room temps would be perfect 75 76 degrees. Venting into the attic or crawl space always another option good luck.

Howdy Disappointed, Sammy is correct, it would be much better to vent the exhaust to the outside so as not to just re-circulate the moisture and heat back into the tent creating an ever increasing humidity problem. I rely on my A/C unit to refresh and bring in 'new' air, it is too hot here to bring in outside air directly into my grow room. I do not know if the higher humidity levels will adversely affect a carbon filter or not. From what I remember, the filtration effect of carbon comes from two things, first carbon molecules can bind with a lot of other elements and second, it's molecular structure can 'trap' other molecules.
      Good luck with Your grow.

As long as the room gets fresh air- it's not a problem.
I generally exhaust to the outside, but use a carbon filter (outside of the tent) to increase temps/humidity -it slows the airflow of the fan.
TENT-> VENT hose->FAN-> outside or carbon filter.
It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

I vent into the room my tent is in (garage) but fresh air comes over the top of the roller door. As long as the air is going away from your intake and there's at least some fresh air coming from somewhere you'll be fine.
Humidity of the air coming inside in the morning at the moment is 95%, humidity in the tent isn't getting over 40%.
In the warmer weather I open two windows a tiny bit to help get some air flow to keep temps cooler but don't vent outside for stealth reasons.

you have to keep your humidity under control if you are adding a carbon scrubber. if you run them in high humidity they will clog up and your extraction fan will not be able to draw air through it at all. i have had this happen on multiple occasions and it takes several days to clear out the scrubber and dry it so you can use it again. i am sure that it is not working up to its full potential anymore either after being clogged so badly.

Thanks for the info guys! Was talking to a friend who added a carbon filter during their vegatation stage and claimed the carbon filter reduced his humidity in the tent as it filtered the moisture out from the air. Needed to make sure my set up wouldnt encounter the same issue. Thanks

my carbon filter increased my humidity since it reduced the amount of air/moisture going out of the tent.
