Dead Flowers

Well when you're sitting there in your silk upholstered chair
Talkin' to some rich folk that you know
Well I hope you won't see me in my ragged company
Well, you know I could never be alone
Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave
Well when you're sitting back in your rose pink Cadillac
Making bets on Kentucky Derby Day
Ah, I'll be in my basement room with a needle and a spoon
And another girl to take my pain away
Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the queen of the underground
And you…

If she’s amazing, she won’t be easy. If she’s easy, she won’t be amazing. If she’s worth it, you wont give up. If you give up, you’re not worthy.” – Bob Marley

Copperhead Road. I suggest you watch the lyrics version than the video version. I dedicate it to all you Viet Nam vets of the forum. Bless you all!!

Posted this one the other night in the "Music when high thread". Guys daddy and granddaddy where moonshiners. Both ended up dead.. He went off to Viet Nam and came back knowing a thing or two about growing weed from the Viet Cong (Charlie). Now he grows pot instead of making moonshine. I like the video version better, but you have know the lyrics.

Merry Christmas Starramus and all the elves. I think "Dead Flowers" is a heroin song, isn't it? Here's an interesting link about "One Toke Over The Line" by Brewer and Shipley, c.1971, with a link to the Lawrence Welk cover with Dick Dale.

Never heard it before, it was rockin!!! And here's to ALL OUR VETS: Viet Nam, Afghanistan, Desert Storm, etc etc etc.

One of my buddies who lives out in the country used to make moonshine, but he has quite a few buddies growing the herb. I'm now in charge of converting trim to dry ice hash, so as soon as the stores open tomorrow, I'm off to get some dry ice.

dead flowers is dead flowers aren't they? I know "with a needle and a spoon." Saw the Stones in Quebec City last summer. What a beautiful little burg. If Trump deports me I think I'll move there.
