Yellow leaves on big girl

I have a 8 ' girl that started showing yellowing of larger fan leaves. Checked ph on my 400 gal pot several places and ave about 5.4 ph. New growth looks good, still in veg. How can I raise ph without hurting the roots. Read about lime top dressing and water in but understand not much gets down to where it helps. This pot I added bio char to the ocean forest. I think that might have caused the ph problem any ideas of what to do. I water with well water that's 7.0 ph

Mitch, hydrated lime is very fast acting and will raise your ph. Its also cheap. If you decide to use it go slow and monitor your ph increase. That way you wont overshoot. Another benefit is that it breaks up clay that is binding your nutrients, so they are more available to your plant. Good luck.

Being your gonna be using that same soil again I would start with a little lime ,oyster shells ,ground up dolomite lots of different stuff , do your research and find find what your looking just be careful at first when using it cause your 5.4 PH ain't good ,it really ain't that bad out. I think I'm going to wait couple days and let her dry out little more. Then water with some 8 ph water. Thought about mixing in some lime with the water. But how much. Chart says 36 sq ft bed should take 1.5 lbs and mix in dirt. But I can't mix dirt without hurting the roots. New growth doesn't look bad just older leaves. I have ph phrobe stick in the dirt about 16" deep that I read 5.2/4 ph.
