Wire a 630 to 2 seperate 315

Does any one know if this would work? It should right? To much heat is coming from the 630 to get it close enough.. have a 630 and a 315 wanna make it so it's 3 315s, should be essentially the same thing right?
 
I don't wanna reduce the wattage I wanna wire the 630 ballast into 2 seperate 315 reflectors. Which it should work I would think.. it's technically the same thing just under seperate hoods instead of 2 315s under one hood it will be under 2 seperate..
 
If the 630 ballast is currently running 2 - 315's, then yes....it should work if you are just separating the 2 bulbs into 2 different fixtures.
I'd be concerned about the length of wire needed to the second bulb from the ballast...make sure it is heavy enough so you don't get a voltage drop on the second bulb.

If its around 5-6 feet, you should be fine with 16 ga wire
 
If you have to ask someone if it will work you shouldn't be doing electrical work
 
It won't even be but maybe 3 feet.. right now I have a 630 an a 315 in a 4x 8 room an want it to be just 3 , 315s to even distribute the light rather then a 630 keeping it alot hotter in the back then the front plus I can lower the lights lower if there 315s. I'm thinking just unhook the mogul on the far side of the 630 an splice in the same gauge wire an run it to another reflector.. they will be hangin side by side anyway.. prolly put like a 3 ft cord on there just incase
 
Yea well I was 90% sure it would work just wanted to ask.. I'm by no means an electrician but I know how to wire shit up.. I'm not an idiot, hell I ran all the electric the subpanel all the outlets an everything else in my shed when setting up the grow so pretty sure I can wire a light just didn't wanna fuck my ballast up.. an U prolly shouldn't be commenting if U have nothing useful to add , thanks an have your self a wonderful day an happy 420 to ya
 
Hello 227, you got it right, it will work just like your doing, good luck with your plants. Sounds to me like you are a damn good electrician, lol , after doing all that work, and not burning anything up.:)
 
Lol I'm a plumber , all U need to know is shit runs downhill ,don't bite Ur nails an paydays Friday lol, but have ran my fair share of wires, anymore I do everything, just been noticing the plants under the 630 were getting heat stress at the end of flower an I've been reading up on stuff an they say U really should have an air cooled hood for a 630 but the glass blocks some of the goodness so ... An don't wanna buy 2 315s if I can convert the 630, like I said I figured it would work as I've seen other ballasts like that just wanted 2 get a 2nd opinion, an yea haven't burned anything up yet lol , ::KNOCKS ON WOOD:: lol
