Will duct fan work for air cooled light hood?

Need ideas for a fan to use on 400watt air cooled hood. Right now I got fan on its back pointed straight up under hood. I need heat in general, I just want to keep heat from beating down on plants.

I prefer to point my fan over my canopy. This seems to be most effective. This will keep the heat from building up in the leaves and cause them to stress.

Are you using an inline duct fan for your air cooled hood?

I have no inline fan. My tent is wide open 247. I need the heat from light in the room , just need push out 2x4x5 tent.
Is a duct fan good enough? Is a inline fan required to push the heat out of light hood? Right now I am using light hood with out glass .

The duct fan will definitely reduce the heat but it sounds like you need the heat. You don't have to use the duct fan and you'll gain around 5% more light intensity from no glass.

On my 600W HPS I remove the glass and put a duct fan on each end of the hood blowing OUT. The air sucks in the bottom of the hood and out the sides. I try to not put glass between my light and the plants.
