Wicking Buckets

Has anyone used self wicking buckets? Thinking of going with super soil and this type bucket so I don't need nutes and the need for watering every day. Gardening by Leon has a lot of videos on Youtube on building them, they are a simple system.

Never used wicking buckets, but I use saucers under my fabric pots to wick up the runoff, if I have any, I try not to have any runoff, but sometimes I do, an it wicks right back up quickly.
Your gonna love the living soil, very easy to work with, plus I think organic just plain tastes better, imo.

I grow herbs, vegetables and fruits (not this year sadly) in wicking barrels that I built several years ago. They work fantastic, fill it with water and plant in April then add water about once a month in June, July, August and September, water the stuff (strawberries) again in November that will grow through winter and fill with water again for spring planting. Basically I can grow year round outside in Oklahoma and only water 6 times per year as long as we don't have record drought which does happen, those years I might have to water 2-3 more times. During the hardcore droughts we experience, while people's crops are dying in the ground without water every day or two, mine are usually still thriving and only needing topped off every 3 weeks.
