all four started on the same day. why do you think the smallest grows so slowly? he has a small scratch on the leaf that I got him a few days ago because I was cleaning it from the earth. could this be the cause?

Yes that could be your answer. Now don't overwater and don't fed them yet.

Some kids grow faster than others but as adults, they are the same height. It's a bit early to be too concerned but your biggest thing to watch out for at this point is overwatering like SoOrbudgal mentioned.

It's normal. Out of 6 Nepal I had a small one but she turn out as big and strong like all of her sisters.

Some seeds just aren't as strong and vigorous as others... Sometimes one gets off to such a poor start that I just replace it with a new seed.
