Thank you NakedGardner. It could be light-bleaching, and that would surprise me. That bud is about 2.5 feet away from the Viparspectra 1350.

Hopefully, you can see the picture now.
I just learned that what I see on my screen is NOT what you see, and that dragging and dropping pictures from Gmail doesn't work in this forum.

Looks like your light is way to low, raise it up some more, that must be a strong light !!! Or either ,it's way to hot in your tent.

Yes I see it now and I too can understand your concern, lamp seems far enough away from them too but it’s just on the one cola correct? Not on any others. I’d still try moving light say a half foot up if you can.
 
If you have a lux meter or even better a PAR meter I would check the amount t of light intensity they are receiving, as well not sure of your grow op size but it could be the light output that is doing it, more experienced growers hopefully will soon weigh in on this one.
 
Thank you. I bet heat was the cause.
I have had heat challenges, which a portable A/C fixed, until it blew a circuit breaker on my power strip, and my fans and AC were off with the light on for 2 hours, and my tent got up to 95 before I saw what happened.
Now I have it plugged directly into the wall.
 
Naked, I did have a heat spike, when A/C and fans went out for 2 hours, but light was still on. Tent got up to 95. I bet that did that damage. I guess kelp time.
DAAS69 brought up heat, and that reminded me of heat spike.
 
If that is one of those 1350s, Vipars with a dimmer switch, I believe I would at least try that, if you dont want to raise your light, you sure don't want to bleach your buds.

Plants are not showing continued symptoms. Fascinating how the damage of a 2-hour heat spike shows up 18 hours later. Will be feeding them kelp today.

Thank you Naked. The quick advice in GWE is what has made it easy for me. I immediately found out about using Neptune's Harvest, which I immediately bought, and I think helped. Notes from successful growers like you help me keep growing into a better gardener.

Par-meter... First thing I want to do is investigate the light output of my three lights. The Viparspectra 300 light output is so different from my Hans Panel 180 and my new Bestva "1800w" LED, which appears to me as not nearly as bright as they claim. I returned the Viparspectra 1350, and was wondering how the Bestva light, which weighs 1/3rd can be more powerful, and I believed the hype about 10w LEDs. The Bestva light arrived yesterday, and the instruction manual has no mention of their brand name, but has two other websites, one of which is defunct, and the other is Boss LED. Shady AF, imo.

Viparspectra gives off such a different color from the Hans Panel and the Bestva. I hope the par meter can help me understand not just the brightness, but constituent light wavelengths.
 
Out of curiosity what PAR Meter manufacturer did you purchase, and yes I know once you see what true photosynthetic active radiation your lights are actually giving, it will help with balancing your light system and indeed tell you a good lamp from a bad lamp, lux is visible light to our eyes not plants, as you know, and whilst lux is a measurement we use, lumens is same as lux just a differing way of measurement in same way as Fahrenheit and Celsius is for temps. Nowadays when I buy lights and it states lux or lumen output I use this a a Tongue in cheek measurement, mostly because too many lumens or lux can lead to light saturation same with PAR too much close to top and boom light saturation. LED lights I am still shy of to be honest, I don’t think they are as good as they claim and prone to unexpected failure of banks of lights or even a half or more, which we know can be catastrophic if you can’t replace that lamp quickly. I know their are some great LED lights out there but they still need to be far off the plant canopy and not like some think, that you can place them up close to the plants.
 
Hydrofarm LGBQM Quantum PAR Meter Micromol Sensor (used for $98 on Amazon) should arrive today.

Arizona is HOT, even in the mountains. So, I haven't considered anything but LEDs, at least for growing in the summer. What surprises me most when I read about LED lights, is how many serious growers are using white LEDs like the Horticulture Lighting Group 260 Watt Quantum Board LED Grow Light Kit V2. That kit looks so easy to put together, I think even I might be able to do that. All white lights? Fascinating. Is it close to as good as a g8led? I'd like to know. I'm sure I need a better understanding of botany to be able to well use my new-to-me tool.

I'd be amazing grateful to find a video tutorial on making the most of a Par meter. I'm searching. Most of the educational videos are also sales video, which makes it a video to sell me on their light, as opposed to teaching me how to use a tool to ascertain what's best.
